Ok, so i was planning on doing this awesome trip to aitutaki in july/auguts but the guy i had planned to go with has bailed on me (fuming) pritty devo.

i still really want to go away, prefferably overseas, somewhere warm, sunny and with flat water riding. but being on my own im kinda limited.

anyone know of any groups i can tag along with or if there are any kite centres that organise this type of thing???

really any thoughts (related to this topic) would be fantastic ;)

There are several kites shops that take tours of groups over to Fiji at Safari Lodge which is beautiful warm and sunny, clear water and clean wind, some awsome kiting can be done over there!

Ciao Sonya,
come to Bali.. Even if alone you will be fine.. There is always a good vibe and many people to meet at Kite Beach in Sanur.. There are more and more girls kiting too..
July-August is usually the best time.

There is a kite tour group that head up to Cocos islands which is more on your side of the continent so would be cheaper to get to for you.
If your interested send me a message and ill send you their details (don't want to seem like im advertising them!)

Why don't you go ahead with the trip to Aitutaki anyway. You will be with a group of people who are there for the same reasons, kiting, warm flat water and some good winds. A few of us are going on the 15 July tour and part of the fun is going to be meeting new people with the same interest.
I did the Fiji trip last year to safari lodge and it was good fun, ended meeting some great people that I now bump into around the various kiting haunts back here in Melbourne. Just go for it, you will have a great time.

No not at all. We had every single day kiteable on the trip I did from about the 10th of September. Only thing that kept us of the water was an extremely low tide, but the down time was pretty well needed by then anyway.

“It's a crazy time of year,” he said. “The big yam harvest will be coming in now. And women will be given permission by the paramount chief to capture men and have their way with them.”

“You mean, assault them?” I asked, disbelieving. “Sexually.”

“That's it,” said Nick. “They will rape them.” He pronounced it 'rep,' as in travelling salesman, and made it sound just as casual.

“The women lie in wait in the bushes,” he continued. “They jump out on a man when he goes to work in the gardens or even while he's just waiting to get a lift to town. It's always a man from another clan; women will never rape men from their own village. It's a kind of ritual humiliation. It's a very dangerous time for a man to be walking by himself. Men will be going round in twos and threes, just in case.”

Hey Sonya

Go the Trobrian islands PNG tour...

Its an experience of a lifetime - flatwater lagoons, surf and wind.
Different 'Postcard' island scenery or sandbars in the middle of nowhere each day.

The Islander kids will hide behind you as for some its there first contact with someone with a different colour skin and there very shy - but with the biggest smiles youve ever seen... They live island life unaffected by modernization, money doesnt exist there, they grow and fish from around the island.

The hole village will line the shores as soon as the boat comes. Its very exciting to have a few hundred kids cheering and waving from the shoreline and every single one of them will want to help launch your kite too. When you show them a camera photo - they all squeal in delight, as theve never seen themselves - theres no modernisation remember except for you...

If you just wanna kite - any tour will do...

If you wanna kite and have an awesome experience that will last a Lifetime guaranteed... Then go the PNG trip.

Ps youll want to take a really good camera to capture this amazing stuff too, I wish i did!

Cheers Clay
