Around April/May (probably mid may if I was a betting man!) I plan to return home to Canada. Sadly my home town of Toronto isn't known for its fine sea breeze :( I'd like to make the best of my last months in Australia.
I'm 26 years old and I've spent 3 years in Perth, specifically Fremantle (great city! I look at those huge boats in the port in awe.. makes me feel like a child). I've managed to see the south west as far down as Esperance. Kite surfing is near an obsession for me (love it, I'll go out solo in storms but I much prefer it with some mates), but I also enjoy all that other outdoors stuff.. diving, hiking, photography... skiing on snow anyone? :P
I'm open to suggestions. Not sure if I want to motorbike (probably need to find other people to do that with for safety reasons) and fed ex my gear as I go (i'd be a hassle carrying all my gear on my bike) Or end up buying a camper van and driving around and camping. If I can save enough for 2 months off I'd like to be able to spend ~ ~2 weeks in one spot at a time (I hate tourist crap and driving around heeps just to take a stupid picture with a fricken rock.. no offense if you like that! different strokes for different folks). I'd like to stay in one spot for a 2 weeks and explore that area and get to meet some good people.
I'm not sure what the wind is across Australia between March/April and where would be the best options for a person like myself.
Other options would be to transit in places like mauritius or hawaii.. but I'd rather venture in australia instead.
I appreciate any suggestions or tips.
Dan.
