Its official.
Kitestock MMX will be held on the 19th 20th & 21st Feb.
All WAKSA subscribers & members should have a WAKSA E-News in their inboxes.
The location will be announced within the next few days. DONGARA

Once a registration open date is set you will be able to follow all the progress by tuning in to www.waksa.com.

And before you ask we can tell you. The date selection is non negotiable. The slightly later date this year was due to our decision not to run in conjunction with the Aust. National Titles which will be held in Vic over the 2 weekends prior to Kitestock.

There will be another mailout announcement and another post here on Seabreeze as soon as registrations open.

WAKSA membership reminder :
If you havent signed-up or re-registered for the WAKSA season 2009/10
1) You are not a member. We want & need your support.
and
2) You are uninsured. It just isnt worth the risk.

Kitestock MMX sounds a bit pretentious to me. ^^^
The Olympics and the Super Bowl use roman numerals...
but as a means of numbering the championship, not as a date.
WAKSA is so try-hard.
lol.

Hi WAKSA
With all due respect WAKSA running it later in the season we run the risk of having easterlies over the weekend all for thew sake of the nationals, give me a break. Who really gives a toss about the nationals. Do you think they would move the dates for us if our kitestock was going to clash with there event, NO. This is a WA event not a national event and if they want to come over, well then thats great why should we bend over and bow to the nationals and secondly how many kiters attended KS from the east last year and how many West Aussies go over for the nationals.
As I'm usually a sponsor for the event I would rather see the event have wind in the wind period than kiters pissed off sitting around in the heat with Easterlies. Because for the last two times on the Sunday of the event has produced Easterlies.
I would hate to see that happen for the whole event.
Cheers
That my Opinion on the later date.

This year was my 1st KS and i thought the venue and all invoived rocked.

Having said that..

Is actually gonna be at Dongara or what?

Also this year at KS i couldn't fly my gear the whole time as it was too windy (needed to demo replacement gear anyhoo so no probs).

I am now armed with a 7m kite and will be spewin if I don't get to fly that as KS (and hopefully a couple of weekends away) was probably half the reason i got a 7m.

That's just my personal issues (the therapy is helping) but it would really be a shame to move to a less likely wind time. Is late Feb dicey in Dongara? If it is there?

Enquiring minds want to know.

Its official - Dongara is locked in for Kitestock MMX.
Thats it - the final piece of the jig-saw fell into place today.

The official kitestock website will be up & running with online registrations as soon as possible.
Watch this space and www.waksa.com for updates in the meantime.

instead of making it later on in the season when the wind is less "consistent" why not make it end of jan beginning of feb... before the nationals but after aust day? and yes there is a weekend in there.

The best way to have an opinion on when and where kitestock is, is to nominate and get voted onto WAKSA and then you can take the responsibility.

If not then it is just hot air.

good luck to the committe, i imagine that they put in a great deal of time and effort only to be constantly confronted by people who moan about it not being perfect for them.

i agree you make to much sense, why have it end Feb when the weather is hot and mostly easterlies.
Also dont carry on about how windy it was last year you might remember there was a cylcone up north.

As well as being late in the season and the risk of no wind, there is also the Rotto channel swim on the 20th which i am going to give a crack. Jan is a much better option for wind. Good luck on those dates, i will be heading up in Jan and have it all to myself but not happy to miss a Kitestock.

The beer tickets are yours ONLY if you can beat me at eating as many double cone, chocked dipped with flake icecreams as you can. Whoever eats most wins!!!!
One rule, VOMITING EQUALS DISQUALIFICATION,

If you vomit, I get your beer tickets (for me)
