Kitestock 2011 will be held from 11th to 13th February on the sunny & (hopefully) windy shores of South Beach, Dongara/Port Denison.
All those attending will need to be registered WAKSA/AKSA members.
Registrations are now open - make sure you get your registrations in early folks.

Worked fine when I used Firefox, and failed when I used Chrome.
WAKSA did email me, they are monitoring the situation as you would expect from the awesome team the does so much for kiting in WA!!!
if u don't have aksa membership its $305 for the weekend. thats a bloody rip when you include accom and food compared to previous years. all those poor grommies and tight ass kiters are screwed. no wonder kiting is made up of predominately old men when everything is so bloody expensive It better get u alot of free/cheap beer at the pub...
Take out the $125 for aksa/waksa insurance and ur left with $180.
$180 for :
- 6, usually top rate, meals;
- free music both nights;
- chances to pick up well over $10k of kite kit (probably closer to $20K);
- a free bus to and from the pub both nights;
- a free bus to get you into a 25k downwinder;
- a shuttle to run you up and down the beach to wherever & back at your call;
- first aiders on hand for free first response medical stuff (inc free band-aids);
- shade to sit under while u eat your free meals;
- free plates & cutlery (if ur too irresponsible to bring ur own);
- PA & music all day at mission control;
- someone to take away all ur rubbish for you;
- someone to grade the beach so your kite doesnt get tangled in seaweed;
- a free 'T' shirt;
- a grab bag full of nefarious goodies;
- sunscreen freely available all weekend;
- almost every brand & type of kite & board ready for you to demo all weekend;
- free instructor clinics for all levels of kiter ability from beginner to advanced;
- discounts of all sorts from trips to purchases you make back in Perth;

If you are too financially challenged (grommie or otherwise) to be able to come up with the $'s then Yep I agree with you that is a shame - but hey - thats also life.
If you are a 'tight ass kiter' that thinks $180 is too expensive then stay home and ride ur pushy to your local. No problem at all there. You probably wouldnt enjoy the party anyhow.

Ive got my ticket, aint paying extra $250 wife and kids though, have thought very hard about canceling it but the set up/organisation costs money so i wont

C,mon people, this is the best kite event going, but for those with kids it is a lot of money not just a whinge. As a single bloke I need to cough up $180 bucks fantastic value, as a dad with 2 kids I need to find $590 as one kid does not kite plus WAKSA registration, yes I know we should all have it. For families on limited incomes this is a big issue and not one to be scoffed at and told to stop complaining. Travel from Perth and somewhere to stay its easily $1000 for a long weekend, there are many Kiting families who cannot afford that amount of cash. As an association is that what we want? Or should we be a little more creative and offer alternatives for families, i.e non catered ticket that allows entry in the evening for under 16s or students? and pensioners? Thoughts please not just red thumbs, see you all there for a great weekend.

I am not sure what it cost for families , but if it is good value for one person it should still represent good value for say a family of four if they pay a reduced rate.
The problem is not the event, it's just the family guy has gota pay for 4 people and probly from one income and only one of you is super stoked to be going
So if your family is just tagging along because you want to go and they have no real interest in kiting, then that probly makes it seam even less value to you because they don't really want or need to be there but that's what families do right!
The organisers are simply passing on the costs of running a kiting event for kiters. And keep in mind is sounds like there are a sh!t load of volunteers who have given up their time to help your weekend go smoothly.
If you wanted to go skydiving would you pay 3 or 400 just for you or would you shout the whole family and fork out over $1200 for all to experiance it 
You have a choice to have a family and you have choices to make with a family
All us family guys have being paying for our families for a little while before KiteStock was invented
For the most part kiting is an individual experiance, it is not a family sport unless the family is into it
Now I'm confused is it the price that you are not happy with, or the kiting conditions, or the fact that others like to socialise and have a good time.
I go there to (in no particular order), kite, to demo gear and to catch up and socialise with like minded people, so I am happy to pay the price and I'm stoked that WAKSA put the event on.
If I wasn't happy, I wouldn't go, it's a pretty easy choice.
I have a young family and I leave them at home because I am planning on kiting every hour I can.

It so easy to say if you dont like it f off, better to listen and maybe make accessable to everyone, i think the way it is some people wont go because of the cost, or they will rock up for the show to public beach without any contribution to WAKSA, maybe i am wrong

If South Africans are willing to pay the money you know its good value for money. The only problem is I'm going to South Africa on Tuesday so it looks like some lucky person is going to get my spot. I dont think people realize that the people who organise kitestock do it without getting paid a cent, so how about writing a few thank yous rather than whinges.
