Hi

New to WA and planning a 10 day road trip Perth to Esperance around Easter.

Looking for recommendations about where to kite along the way. Prefer flat water not waves.

Collie River Lagoon?
Augusta River?
Oyster Harbor?
Culham Inlet?
The lagoons between Walpole & Albany?

Intermediate+ skill level and 6 years kiting experience.

Hi Mate
The winds usually shot by then, Dont forget those big kites! However you cant beat Princess Royal Harbour for flat water, forget about oyster harbour its crap!
Finding launch spots around the lagoons can be a mission due to vegetation, plus dodgy winds from turbulence.
Plenty of waves tho...

Walpole Estuary is surrounded by hills, so any wind is full of holes and all over the shot. We went fishing instead after two dire sessions in a SE'ly. Hire a kayak, at Frankland or Walpole, and paddle up the Frankland River - you'll think you're on the west coast of Tasmania, at a pinch. A Perth kiter a month a ago told me Denmark estuary is OK if you go right out to the entrance, but I've never tried it. West end of Princess Royal Harbour is mint if it's got some easterly wind in it, as is Mididleton Beach, in Albany. Augusta is the duck's nuts in a SE'ly and Sth'ly.

Augusta ....Check the Leeuwin Lighthouse for current reading and Margaret River for forecast .. gen add 5 knots to Margaret River . Best on South East breeze..

Best flat water spot in the world on its day.. enjoy!
