Yeh if those pictures were taken right when the X2 came out, which I doubt. It still wouldn't be 8 years anyway seeing gear is released at the end of the year sept/oct sometimes later and we are not at that point in this year yet and the X2 was released in 2002.
Surfing and Kite surfing are to completely different sports, both, can allow the rider to be at one with the elements the wind the power of the ocean. In the same way kite surfing on a wave is different to surfing on a wave. Kite surfing in butter flat water is different to SUP[}:)].
There are many of us that enjoy all these sports, let us not compare but just enjoy each aspect and have fun.
The best rider is the one having the most fun.
just wait till josh kerr and the rest of the pro crew learn to kite

Yeh big airs are awsome...I havnt seen in anyone do an air like this in 2 years...i guess the thing is I am a surfer so my goal in this sport is for a surfer standing on the beach to go **** me that guy is tearing its like he isnt kiting...so just to define that style it is about surfing using the kite as an advantage and losing it when it takes away from the surfing style..but yeh it is the guy having the most fun wins...so that can mean any style...like Wainman is a great example.
