Hi, in the last week or two I have been trying out some kiteloops, I have followed all the steps that I think your meant to take towards a kiteloop, downloop trainsitions, backroll kiteloops etc. I have learnt all those fine, but I am really struggling on my kiteloops. I have been using a 7m and a 9m best GP which are both c kites, so they should be fine for looping. This Saturday is looking very windy so hopefully will be able to try a few more. Here is a video to give you a better of idea of my loops and hopefully you might be able to stop what I am doing wrong, sorry not the best footage.

Haha nice. Looks like your on the money. What exactly do you need help with?
7m gp loops like a gem. I tryed looping my 11m gp with 42cm bar, that was the scaryest slowest loop ever.

Just keep trying man.

Agree with kemp, looks fine, u just need to keep the board on and don't panic!

Just point the board downwind and lift ur front knee when coming in to land....nice and soft on the joints then!

Thanks Gilly and Kemp for your replies, great to hear your feedback on the gp's Kemp. I usually ride with boots but decided to learn kiteloops on straps, a couple of people have said that I should ride boots for learning to land the kiteloops because you can take harder landings, whats your opinions on this

Get some boots dude.
Straps are for school teachers who wear hats made from wetsuit material!

i use straps all the time and out of a 100 loops - boots may have been handy about 2 or 3 times, so its personal preference there...

your board should tight enough not be able to come off at any angle, if they are good jump pads.. understandable if youve come from boots

The loops ok - in the clip your not quite high enough, a little more wind will help or initiate earliar... if your high enough on the swing under - heli loop the kite for a softer landing or the kite may fall ontop of you..

Try 'fishpoling' the bar... you may have commitment issues.... Looping is like pringles. Once you pop... you can't stop.

I almost switched to boots, but then I bought Naish Apex pads, and problem solved,

Try lifting your feet right up in the air,
helps keep the board on
and even if you stack it, just looks pretty cool.

btw nice vid

I think you are almost there mine only suggestions

Pop harder, higher. more upwind. Think railey / gayley helps line the body up for the yank
Loss the first spin/rotation for now. I think thats making it hard for you to anticipate the pull of the loop.
Arch the soles of your foot to lock the board on before and during the yank.
and then when you got the board in front of you, relax into the landing

Thanks everyone for the tips and suggestions, I think I will try boots next time and see how it goes. If you have got any more tips on landing kiteloops I would love to hear them!
