Hello All,

We just finished translating kitefinder.nl. (netherlands)
We used it in our school, now we made also a kitefinder.com version.

We hope that it helps beginners and other riders to find a suitable kite. (Test and find out what is suitable for you)

Good fun

hi Stefarius
Well we don't see any Australian kite brands in your site?
Unfortunately for you guys, you'll only have as much info as your local distributor supplies.

Many of those brands advertised in your website were in the 2010 Kitestock Wave Masters.
Kitestock is the biggest kite event in Australia. An O.S. kite which is a local kite, designed by NEW kiteboarding (Geraldton) won the event.
The kites seem to go alright in the right hands.

Hi,

Yes I know we are not yet complete. It takes a 2 years to develop te site. Now it has to grow in size.

So please sent us a mail with the most seen Australian brands.

Mail info@kitefinder.com

Very nice website!
To make it complete, it might be good to add a technical info section, where you explain things like aspect ratio, AoA and some general design trade-offs.
Australian kites: Griffin Kites, Fluid Kites...
Test the Fluid Ego for big airs ;-)

Also look up Sugar glider kites, Big rock kites and White shark kiteboarding.
You wont find them on the internet or magazines.

These brands are also pretty big down here.

Hi KnutH,

I am working on Kitefinder.com together with Stefarius. THanks for the comment on adding technical information, sometimes we forget that many of the terms we use are not always common knowledge.

What we did do is add info to each of the characteristics. If you look at the right hand side of the screen with the characteristics there is a little question mark above each one. If you hover the mouse over it it will give more info about that particular item...

But anyway, thanks for the feedback and thanks for the new brands. As Stefarius wrote, we just started and we'll need some time to get more kites tested.
