I live in Ayr and saw some lads kiteboarding at Alva beach here on the weekend. My googling tells me its one of the better spots around for it which is why Im half interested in trying it out.

I don't really know where to start in terms of aquiring gear and learning how to do it.

It does look hard but a heck of a lot of fun.

Can anyone point me in some direction?

Thanks

Get on to the guy in Townsville Mal "IN THE LOOP". He has a shop there mixed in with a surf type shop near the sugar shaker. He is nice he will have new gear if you want to go that way and he will also be able to help with lessons. Most people get second hand gear after they have had a few lessons. Palarander is the spot in Townsville to learn i believe. Alva beach looks sick. Bowen is good and Conway beach is great also.
