Not sure quite how to deal with this one but I'm a bit pissed off with the behaviour of a kite shop selling gear on the buy and sell section.

Ok I know this is a classic but they seem to troll with an add for something that seems to be a really good deal ( in this case it was for a Dakine (great) Harness) and when you contact - it was JUST sold WIBF?? - but we have a crap harness at more than the previously advertised price for the top shelf one. Oh and the add still stands despite contacting the poster suggesting they pull the now 'fake' add- try a mega search on Dakine Pyro Harness - its there but not available - and theyll say that havent had time to pull the add?? Trolls!!

I reckon we should be naming and shaming these shops!!

As a follow up one of my mates looked into an add for a nice kite surfboard - only to be told that it had 'JUST BEEN SOLD' WTF - it happens but he was also offered a really bad alternative (and it was a bad deal).

I beginning to wonder if we should encourage Seabreeze to intorduce the Ebay style feedback system - I know these two shop would be rated bottom feeders !!

So is this just a bad experience (x2) or have others had the same crap experience???

Just ping me an email here or via feedback link at the bottom of the page, and more than happy to investigate...

Sounds familiar, from North Queensland?

so the add reads

For sale, 1 trail bike, never ridden off road, never been to the beach.

Tried the search suggested - nothing came up?
Pretty disappointing if kite shops are resorting to less than ethical sales tactics.
Be nice to think they are all their for the sport rather than the dollars.
There are certainly easier ways to make money than to run a kite shop - honestly or otherwise.
I honestly dont think there are many out there that would be guilty of the accusation you are making so it may be unfair to slam them publicly without first being absolutely certain.
JFYI
Dakine harnesses are thin on the ground this season - esp for shops that arent holding stock.
Not daring to troll at all - but we have a pretty solid inventory for the season.
You can find us if you look hard enough.
And like 99% (I guess theres always one) it will always be honest, best advice.

Interesting...I have had this experience from a particular retailer in the buy and sell section on more than one occasion. At first i thought it may be a coincidence...maybe not.

Not trying to make excuses, for any other retailer BUT...
Bear in mind this is the busiest time of year for most retailers, we try to keep on top of the second hand/traded kites and boards, but the second hand changes on a daily basis, both in and out.
So while it may be the old ebay style recurring adverts, they may also just be reputable retailers not keeping up with house keeping on the buy and sell at this time of year.

Hi ya puppet

Your right the day after I posted they pulled the add - sorry to the real guy in Wa selling similar!!!

Strangely I just had a PM mentioning a shop that was doing the same thing earlier in the season- yep same one.

I now know one kite shop in Qld that I will never do business with - crap to see this sort of behaviour in out kite community.

To ASKonline I hear loudly what you are saying and I'd like to cut some slack here - but I dont feel like giving an inch in this case.

Again i know that SB is a great place to buy and sell - have done both here successfully (with one exception where the kiteboard wasnt as described- you know who you are) but I do wonder about a feedback system.

Either way theres one kiteboard shop in QLD that I will steer well clear of !!
