The way the manufactuers change the model names every year makes it very difficult for anybody other than a crazed kite nerd to know wtf is for sale each year. In the good old days it was reasonably consistent only changing when they made a dud, or a significant change in tech came through, ie C to a bow to an "SLE". However based on that theory most of the kites must be duds nowadays!
I am sure I am not alone in wanting some form of categoric consistency, I have forever riden ss fuels and am happy with them. The enormous task of sifting through what else is available is all to hard so I am just going to roll the fuels again! So thats how well these marketing gimic name changing games have worked on me..
Anybody else share my logic?
I think you're on the mark.
A Fuel, Vegas, Torch all C kites, C-kite hybrids , RPM, Park, C4. Names that have stuck....
SLE's, Rebel, Switchblade, just about all others dont last more than 3 years...
I think Ckites are tweaked every year, but with the SLE, hybrid, Delta etc, Companies go in a different diection and make these kites way different to the old model they try too hard to make a point of difference.
