Is the Dakine X-Lace wave foot strap symmetrical / dual side entry?
If not, what foot strap is best for rider changing front foot so as to ride heel side in both directions.

Strapless?
Why the need for straps, aren't they a bit unnecessary?

hey Rob,
I tried a number of different types of footstraps and have found out there are many differences for those who like to gybe/ride switch.
I am using cabrinha ones at the moment, they are soft neoprene and work well both ways. i also like the ones off an old stonker which are rectangular so symmetrical but i don't know if you can buy them anymore?
The North ones are great too. Wide, soft neoprene, you can position them loosely so you can move your foot a bit or slide it out completely to edge more. I have a pair I no longer use which i got from the Pay it Forward thread I could send you if you want? :)

I also use the basic cabrina straps, loose enough to be able to move your foot around and work both ways

Hi Erin,

Good to hear from you again. Thanks for your generous offer. But I am all set now. I went down to Torquay yesterday to buy a new winter wetsuit and also called in to the Stonker factory. That's where I saw the Dakine x-Lace straps. I couldn't decide if the X-Lace were any good for me so I got a pair of plain rectangular symmetrical straps. Coincidentally, just as you suggested. They are quite a large fit and will hold their shape well so will be easy to get in and out of to switch. They will be ok to start with. But I am still interested to have an answer to my original question if anyone out there knows as my mate in WA was also interested in the X-Lace straps.

Hey Rob,

I have x lace front and back they are symetrical and depending on how tight you have them and any deck grip issues you can get in or out just fine.

The BWS website has them at a great price( no I'm not a team rider).

Cheers

That's what I needed to know. Thanks.
BWS site is cheap, if it's for 2 straps. I'm checking now
