Ron Tough & YWA - Meet the Champions and Awards Evening:

Last night was the annual Meet the Champions & Awards, which celebrates the top achievers for the year past. It was impressive to see that 43 West Australians have won either world or National championships this year. The Ron Tough Foundation assist sailors who have shown excellence, to further their scope and help them represent WA on a world platform.

The nominations for Ron Tough Scholarships, Official or the Year, Admin of Year, Coach of the Year, Male & Female Sailor of the year, Sailor with a Disability of the year, Junior and Youth Sailor of the year were all highly contested awards, all nominations having really impressive accomplishments and having put in a significant effort over the past year. The award for Outstanding contribution to sailing again, really impressive and the only sure way to have won that outright without a challenge would have been to have invented sailing... how they could pick one winner must have been quite a tough challenge !!

Kim Lindsay received a much deserved nomination from PKR & JBSC in the official of a the year section, which was won by Andy Currow for his efforts which included officiating at the Kite Racing Worlds and Continental Championship.

As one of the newest clubs, PKR were also on the running card... ( and with quite a few images included in the slide show)

Ron Tough Foundation kindly awarded PKR with financial grant to help with some key equipment for next season. Thank you this is a much appreciated. PKR was also mentioned for its accomplishments and growth during the past season.

Torvar Misky was also successful in a grant application to attend high profile Kite Racing events in Europe later this year, congratulation!!!!

Its great that the club, our sport of kite racing and and individuals are getting recognition, and we look forward to all the local racers making an even bigger impact in coming seasons :)
