My young fellas just about right to have a crack on a board. (once the stingers go home). 10yo and about 30kg so pretty small... was wondering what other parents have used as a first board, and if there's anything specifically available?? Failing that was considering his skim with some footstraps? any suggestions
cheers

a strapless skim board is excellent for kiting skills.

great for board balance.
good for practicing body dragging.
you will learn good kite control.
and it will be good before he hops onto a strapless surfboard.

plus there cheap; 30 $$, so it doesnt matter if he loses it.
and plenty of fun.

my son is on an old underground flx 122 - the size seems good for him & the advantage is that the foot positions are nice & narrow - i know a mate of mine bought a 2nd hand old one about a year ago & not sure if he uses it much - pm me if you want me to chat to him - cheers & good luck with the young guys
