Just a reminder registrations close Monday at 5pm, all registrations after this date incur a $30 late fee, so to avoid this fee, just register like now!!! We are discussing donating as much of the entry fees we can to help Quinn Huynh who currently remains in a critical condition in a Melbourne Hospital after a tragic Kiteboard accident!! So the more entries means the more we can give to help Quinn and his family plus help raise awareness to the associated risks!! Check out Quinns Facebook page and support the cause please...

Is this even legit? Seems to be very limited info regarding this event. Sorry if I missed something.

I assume you're taking the piss??? But Chris has posted a ton of info in comparison to any other event I've been to in AUS.
Here's the Facebook page if you are serious - www.facebook.com/kingofkite
I'm not a facebook user.. I was going by the info in the OP and a google search didn't come up with much. apologies.. ![]()
Dan, I just googled it and found several links ;-)
Can you suggest another way that may get info out?? There seems to be very limited options!
Cheers, Chris

Nothing wrong with your strategy mate.. But more info in this thread would have been good.. for people who don't use facebook and apparently don't know how to use the google.

Crew, the KING of KITE comp is a wind or no wind wakestyle comp!!!
This means you are guaranteed to ride be-it KITE, CABLE or WINCH
Melbourne's event is planned for the weekend 27-29th Dec @ Altona Beach. There will a number of obstacles in the water ranging from a very basic easy to ride box slider, a mellow kicker and then a number of more technical rails. The focus of this event is on wakestyle and it is encouraged that all riders attempt to slide or boot off the kicker at the very minimum in their comp run!! The Pro Mens has a division that only scores obstacle hits with zero flatwater tricks!! All other divisions include flatwater tricks. The concept is to develop this style of riding in Australia and help riders fine tune their skills so they can further compete in this growing style on the world comp wake scene. Every rider will ride winch in the mornings as points will be allocated etc, therefore if the wind does not come in, there will a result and winner of the Melbourne stop. If the wind comes in then kite points are added to winch scores giving riders greater overall points score towards being crowned the KING of KITE!!
The rail plan and comp layout will be up soon, the thing we need mostly is riders support!! So if your thinking of riding and have not yet signed up, please do so like today as any registrations after this date incur late fees!! Scroll up to the first post on this page for the online booking link!!
There is a pro coaching clinic focusing on teaching/helping riders learn to slide and hit kickers, this is planned for the Friday and another will be held on the Monday after the comp!!
