Please contact me via email steve(at)kitepower.com.au ASAP if you are interested.

You must be a competent rider and very familiar with wakestyle riding and the technical differences of tricks.

You would be provided with an all expenses paid trip to New Caledonia, from 1st to the 9th November 2008 inclusive.

It is highly likely that you could extend your stay either side of the event dates, using the airfare provided.

You must know the difference between BINDINGS, boots and straps!
Not kidding!

I don't know about you saffer, you were getting pretty confused in the Backless BINDINGS thread, and you have a record now with the Naming and Logic police dept's

Its the real deal I'm led to beleive, the offer is open to anyone that is experienced and knows wakestlye enough to judge at PKRA level.

There is bound to be plenty of time to have a kite too!

Someone has been playing too much Shaun Murray's hahaha. I don't think you would have to worry hardly anyone does toeside tricks, let alone in comps. It is all about one handed handlepasses. Then theres the dilema what to call a front mobe.

Hi Michel

This year there will be both a KPWT event and a PKRA event in New Cal, and from the document the organiser has sent out there will be a KPWT 2009 round in New Cal too.

Listen style slave childrens, its not about any one style, but youse do need to be up with wakestyle tricks and know the difference between the main ones ho K?

Its a genuine opportunity. Someone who does a good job, stays sober at the right times, smiles a lot, and stays positive under pressure will probably get invited back or to other events.

Nope, only KPWT, the other one is the Teri Pacific Cup.

I'm pretty sure Aaron rips in bindings/cable/and has his kite lower than anyone. He's in the PKRA so.......

you are right andyy however.... i think you will find he rode powered and kite low how he thinks should be the future in the last event and he lost his heats. after that he had to revert to kitestyle.

are you allowed to have your own judging criteria. eg f*%#en big air in more than 18 kts with kiteloops and other stuff that looks bloody good to the average punter , mandatory (like the lenten and hadlow vid from south africa) points deducted for anything that has a 'Sameness " about it or the slightest hint of wiggly ,throw in some wicked old school (like a vid I saw of schinn and co a few years back )?

yeh no player hatin on aaron but with the comps set out the way they are and with the judging criteria how it is , there will never be any recognition for riding with your kite lower and with more style.

Thats so untrue its just plain silly.

Real power control, board skills, synergy between kiter and kite, and individuality is what brings the cream to the top in all comps, keep it real.

One trick wonders and claiming does not cut it.

who said anything about one trick wonders???

i would rather see someone stomp a back to revert or a front roll with power and style than see some of the other pkra blokes dangle on thier monkey bars. doesnt matter if they have full control of the kite or "synergy" its about whatever looks best and how difficult the manouver is.

Some of the riders start with their kites low send it as they take off too about 11 or 12 then a second before they land dive it back low giving the illusion that they did a fast powered trick. Anyone on here that has tried or can do these moves will have the appreciation on just how much harder having the kite that little bit lower is.

Having the kite that little bit higher allows parachute landings if they stack it, extra time to complete the manouvere and most of all sending the kite creates line tension thoughout the trick, alike a pull up and makes it difficult to perform wakestyle tricks with style. A good pop trick the lines should go a bit slack.

So theres some of you out there that love your big air etc. I'm not criticising that but if you want to talk about wakestyle kiting then some of these blokes are cheating.

Andyy is correct (almost).
The event is called "The Teri Kitesurf Pro 2008", and it is not an official round of the 2008 PKRA competition series.
However it probably will be in 2009, the head of the PKRA will be attending and it is the intention of the The Teri Kitesurf Pro 2008 organisers to run a round of the 2009 PKRA series in New Cal.

If Andyy is who I think he is (Andy Yates) then he is an invited rider, so is Ben Wilson, Paul Jackson, Keahi, Cam, Marine, and CJ
There is a strong NZ field of riders too including Jamie Barrow, Dave Edwards, Sue Kay, Torrin Bright, and Marc Jacobs.

Entry is still open to other riders, contact the organisers (via me for now, until I get some more info) for entry conditions.

@siwalker - never said it was, you did though.
If you don't know what is meant by the term, fine, you just keep riding the way you do, and enjoy it. In the end thats what makes the difference, some people ride for themselves and others who are always of inferior skill in my experience ride to be seen - you know who you are!

No idea, maybe I have let the cat out of the bag Paul?
Your name is in big print on the publicity blurb they sent me along with all the others I mentioned.

I'm sure they will be in touch soon.

Riders wishing to enter, or those that have been mentioned and who have not heard from the organisers should contact Cyril CATTEAU catteau(at)gmail.com replace the (at) with @

All of the other talk aside, I would love to go. Judging an event like that would be great experience, great fun and im starting to realise that im getting to old to become pro so this would be the next best thing.

Put my name in da hat.

Hi all !

I am the organizer of New Caledonian event this year once again and for sure it is NOT A KPWT event. There is no KPWT event scheluded this year be sure of that.

It is not a PKRA event also but an open event with 30.000AU$ of prize money. The best riders of the Pacific and some wild cards will be there from november 1st to 9 : Aaron Hadlow, Gisela Pulido, Seb Garat and more ...

Actually our team (judges, head judge and race director) seems to be completed. We also hope to organize a PKRA for '09. Stay tuned !

Cheers, Cyril.

NB : Sorry for my poor english writing !

NB': Any good riders (male, female, junior) are welcome ! Please come and see our beautiful spot.

The judging positions has been decided, and a well known oz kiter will be on the judging panel.
Dave contact "bandidos", he is the person in charge of competitors. His name is Cyril as you can see in his message above.
