Kiters going on this adventure had better start leaving their lines attached to the kite when packing their gear up. Put a half hitch around the bar and lines about 4m from the kite, place bar in centre of leding edge and roll up kite as normal. Take care with it and it will work out when you unpack it. I have not taken my lines of my kite all year ,only to check pigtails and when I wiped out bad a coupla times.
Practice now and it will save frustration and time out there. Unless there are better ideas I find this way works well.
5 WEEKS!! Bring it on!
Can't wait!!!!
I have never boat launched before though so I should be able to provide some entertainment ![]()

Edit: Being on a large boat with a bit of deck space, do you guys normally swim out with bar and lines and launch with someone holding the kite on the boat, or stay on the boat and drift the kite out?
There must be a better way to rig and launch a kite from a boat ? ^^^
Like some kind of rotating mechanical device attached to the stern of the boat...
so your lines can feed out efficiently and in order.
Just brainstorming here.
Drift launching.
Just make sure the polies dont have their kit strung out the back.
.....and don't get mal pissed the guy has gorilla hands.
We stay on the transom and drift the kite out, we have yet to work out how to bring the kite in in a relaunchable state.
Cheers guys, I'm sure if the wind and swell are up it could get rather interesting.
I will see if I can have a couple of practise runs before then.
