Hi

coming from NZ for a 10 day holiday over Easter and the following week (approx 10 days), is it worth bringing my kites and if so what sizes. I have 15, 11 & 7.

Traveling with family so space tight.

Thanks

Probably best to look at the forecast before you leave

Its hit or miss that time of year, If you can bring only one - I'd take your 11m, if you have room also the 15. Head to the river mouths if its marginal on the outgoing tide.
Mooloolaba itself is sheltered from the predominate Southerly winds this time of year so you may need to kite somewhere else. (Maroochy, Caloundra)

As a kiter why would you ever travel without one???? Geez man, if there is even a chance there will be a breath of air, you don't want to sit on the beach while another kite is in the air.

If the wind doesn't blow there's no loss..

Don't bring kites, it's a perfect excuse to buy new gear....

Definitely bring the 11m and if you can fit the 15 all good.I have recently moved to that area and often the websites show wind speed at 12 knots or so but in reality when you get to the Maroochydore River Mouth the wind is heaps stronger and combined with 5 Knot out going tide is perfect.
Walk in to the point through the caravan park gates . Perfect combination of flat water and small waves at the mouth.Works in S.E or N.E. which is pretty much all the time.Ill be there over easter whenever its on.
