Not sure if he is or isn't.

And his "invention" of a paramotor:https://www.bgparamotor.com/
Maybe Bear is running out of ratings with his traditional survival shows? Has humanity been sanitised to the point that kids are eating worms and cockroaches and actually enjoying it!?
no idea wat your on about with him kiteing just at a glance was someone called patri?!?
BUT with the paramotor... old bear has a little young friend of his some teenage inventor who made a paramotor suitable for useing when bear grylls when to paraglide over mount everest. this was.....4?5? years ago i cant remember.... now i never heard anything again about old mate young inventor (basicly at certain altitude engines run like bananna frosting due to the oxygen amount in the fuel fire combustion that old chestnut) so maybe old bear and him have teamed up. given that the average paramotoring fluffball is a meringue tart and 50+ with no actual flying ability who just wishes they had a plane instead but cant afford one or have somewhere to keep hes probably very very good branding for that demographic. so maybe some company a bit smarter is behind it all then just bg

Sorry.
If you Google "Bear Grylls kite surfing over lake on old boat" (I was trying to find a video of him making a 4-line kite out of fishing line, ropes and an old tarp), you get all these "GBA" videos about kite surfing big waves, etc. I just thought he's breaking into kite surfing?
Anyone know if such mentioned video exists? It was a segment on his "Man vs Wild" series.
Paramotor over Mt Everest? What was the result
from memory his young lad mate had to bail due to either engine failure or the frame was fractured or something but old bloody bear managed i THINK to hit the same altitude as the top of everest. but never went physically OVER it just next to it and higher altitude i think
i could be wrong its been very long since i looked at it. and i remember bear being a very average glider pilot to. ...maybe it was an electric motor... my memorys good for about a week then its all minestrone soup
so yeah just did a google everest is 8,848 m i and basicly every other paraglider pilot has gone 3, 000 m regularly (have to sit in the naughty corner if you fly higher then that because you might end up in a jets engine)
Yes it was a Motorglider that he used obviously, and correct I think he only passed Mt Everest, but at a higher altitude than the peak.
From memory the only time he got into trouble trying to do that, was due to the helicopter that hovered above him to get some footage and the downdraft almost collapsed his wing.
I had to think of that when I was kiting the other day and a massive Chinook helicopter came right my way seriously no higher than 100m above sea level. If I hadn't tacked and high tailed it, I would have gotten right into the draft. Who knows what that would have done to my kite...
