I have just changed my Ion2 kite from the four line to the five line set up. Can any one tell me (before I launch it), how to operate the fifth line which has a cleat system which seems to be independent of the main depower strap. When you are riding, do you have to adjust the fifth line setting every time you adjust the depower strap?

Many thanks

You can cleat the fifth line to add extra depower or for better upwind riding. If you adjust the trim strap first you only have to adjust the 5th line once.

I found that cleated about 3 inches my Ion2 trucked upwind.

Saying that, I went back to 4 line bridle setup pretty quick. Way better performance, less tangles and loftier jumps.

One warning- cable tie the neoprene cover onto the cleat. If your leader line gets cleated by mistake you will perform more kiteloops than you expected!!!

I have last years 10.5m and only use it in 5th line. I did adjust the 5th line length so that it has no slack on full power setting.

My experience on 5 line vs 4 line is different to others in that I find with the 5th the kite holds its shape better and I get higher jumps......I have yet to ride a better jumper for my skill level.

Great thanks a lot for the help. Will be interested to see how it goes.
