Looking for some info on Elliot Heads please....
Best wind direction for early May?
Can you kite on all tides or runout high tide only?
Does high tide at mouth only turn to runout about 2 hours after - like Maroocydore?
Any spots to avoid - any other dangers?
Good fishing spots with boat if no wind?
Accommodation - camp or self contained units?

I was there for the first time over the Easter break; Thurs - Monday.
It worked so well on the S/SEly we had; Ely it tends to be a little more difficult to kite, but an awesome spot nonetheless.

Kiting on the runout tide adds a decent 3-5 knots, but its kiteable on an incoming tide.
Low tide doesn't leave that much room once you get windsurfers, kiters and SUPs in the one area, plus people fishing and kids swimming.
Mid tide, if you're a shallow and flat water lover, if you kite towards Woodgate and over the sandbar at Elliot, its just stunning; outdoing tide adds a decent 5 knots there =]
High tide just becomes choppy, but you still have room to set up along the sand bar.

A group of us camped at the local camping grounds; was excellent and so close.

Great spot. Has to be one of my favourite spots in QLD. Kitting in SE winds with a run out tide is best but is ok with any tide. When there are big high tides there is a lagoon that becomes kittable.

Due to a freak natural event in the area Elliott Heads is no longer any good for kiting and is in fact infested with uber sharks with lasers on their heads and locals have been rapidly going blind due to an unidentified toxin in the water.

People are advised that Elliott Heads is now considered a disaster zone and should be avoided like the plauge.

I say again, Elliott Heads is the worst, most dangerous, toxic spot in Australia and should be taken off the map permanently.
