Hey guys!
Shopping around for a North Nugget and came across a site called Indokitesurf (.com) offering prices that were goooood. Too good!
Did a little due diligence and at first nothing was coming up on Google however there was a site called IndoKiteboarding and a thread on this forum about it being a scam. That website has since disappeared. I noticed somebody had commented about Paypal being an advertised option on the main page that wasn't actually available upon checkout.
So I signed up for an account with real name and email but faked all my other details, if they're scammers I don't expect they're above stealing my identity too.
Sure enough, once you get to checkout, the only payment option is 'Bank Transfer'. Suspicious! I'm steering clear of this one and just thought I'd make a post to see if anyone else has seen this site and found it suspicious. Hopefully it can also warn others to be careful.
The 'About Us' page is actually good, no typos like you usually see on sites like this. However they claim to have opened their doors in 2001 yet their .com domain name was only just registered a few months ago, January 2015. Suspicious X2!
If I'm wrong and am accidentally sabotaging someone's business I'll ask a mod to delete this thread. If I'm right they might even have the brains to drop the 'Indo' on the next site so we better be extra careful!

It seems like every time they come back the site is a little more legit looking. Learning from their mistakes.

... I wanted to see if I could demo a kite while on holidays in Bali and stumbled across a dealer on the North website that was actually in Bali. Dealer was in Ubud no less, and for those who don't know, Ubud is in the middle of the island, well away from the water. Hmmmmm. For sh!ts and giggles I emailed them and bugger me they came back saying they won't have a demo kite but thanks for asking!!!
No worries and nice work on the takedown Dave. I did consider writing to Rumahweb myself but expected it to be a waste of time. Nice one!
I'm so glad I shop at Australian shops. The stress and reasearch I save my self is worth more then a few dollars
