And that was in a shallow area!

I thought those orange floaties should allow you to see a GoPro floating from metres away! No?

You don't agree with my post? Have you dropped your gopro with that orange floaty in the surf and seen it straight away!? It's not easy spotting it and I've almost lost mine as the thing went bobbing in and out of the waves. I was lucky I noticed it come off my board!

haha... that was my post. It's still missing. I'll take some of your dollars for every one lost though?

I'm new to kite boarding like the post says. It was a N-NW, so I was having to track across the inlet... unfortunately I stacked in the middle of the deepest part (not sure of the depth, but it has to be over 6 feet?)

anyways.. cause I ****ing suck at trying to get my self going again (had only just started riding both directions, had lined a couple of turns....) and I'm trying to concentrate on all other **** going on... it was too late before I even noticed it was gone after the crash. coupled with some pretty decent chop (by my standards), , i couldnt' see a farking thing... i tacked back and forward looking for it, but was too busy concentrating on the kite and keeping my **** together on the board! pulled the pin after about 1/2 an hour looking.

mid going to high tide, plenty of water moving i assume, this couldn't have helped.

I'm assuming the lines caught the camera when trying to restart.. the bracket/foot holding it in snapped clean off at the thinnest section/radiussed part.

sad thing is after thinking about it some more, i could have simply taken a fin screw out and tethered it back to the fin screw as a secondary!

how do others mount them to their boards ?

Never trusted those back floating things.... I have the orange one for the go pro session which covers it all around and seems better designed. Yet to lose it in the drink though
