I heard from somewhere (can't remember where) that you need to wear a membership tag while kiting in Byron bay and other parts of Sydney.

I am taking that family to Byron for a week and then travelling south along the coast for a further 2 weeks in September. Naturally I'll be kiting on the way, so can anyone confirm or set me straight on this fact/fiction.

Further if you could point me in the direction of where to become a member that would be great as well (assuming it is required)

Be careful, the IKO is a Christian supported organization, and you wouldn't want to fuel that now would you?!

Been kiting for the last ten years on the northern beaches and never seen anyone with a stupid tag thingy,Don't buy into any scare mongering ,just go kiting. There not going to lock you up.People don't even go to jail for stabbing someone.

http://www.nswkba.com.au/membership

membership of kal or any of the state associations includes insurance coverage
they also run events and campaign for our interests like stopping dog parks on kite beaches?

yeh, they also answer all your emails in groups of at least 7, that is one answer for at least every 7 emails. awesome service. I would totally spend my insurance money with them. NOT!!
