I need size help

First of all, apologies for asking such a **** question, but i am in two minds about what size kite to upgrade to.

Me = 73kg, 133x40 twintip. Perth.

I currently ride a 7m 08 Flow, i can just get started in about 18kts, 24 is about perfect, above that the strap starts coming in. I also have an old 10m C kite i want to upgrade, this has a range of about 15-20kts.

Would a 10m hybrid (such as Atom/Ion/Flow/Vapor2) have a better low range than the C? How do the 11m's compare (Sport2/Rev)?

I'm tossing up between a 10m and a 12m. 12 might be too big a gap, 10 might be too small.

Any help? I think that ultimately a 9 and a 12 would be perfect, but i'm not getting rid of the 7 just yet. That thing is awesome!

Go a 7 & 11, or 8 & 12, or 9 & 13

From what I've heard, the 7m flow pulls like a 8m kite anyway so I dont think that a 12m would be such a large gap and would prob overlap nicely.

Its completely up to you, but its prob best to get another flow so you dont have to dial into a different kite when the wind drops down.

Firstly it's not a dumb question. The 10m Flow would't be too bad at 75 kg and will get you going in around 14 knots, maybe a little less at your weight. The 11m Sport II would be a nice fit and has better upwind ability than the Flow although I hear the new Flow 10m is supposed to go upwind better than the 08's. However its a totally different design this year with a flat span across the centre of the LE and no centre strut. It also has no pulleys and direct steer from what I've been told.

The 12m Flow is a bit of a tank. It has good bottom end but at the expense of manoevreability and speed and this will stand out big time when compared to your 7m Flow. The 11 Sport II is fast and agile, I like it, but I reckon you are best to ride the kite for yourself and see what you think, after all it is a different kite to the Flow. We do have a demo 11m if you are keen and I'm sure you can find my number. I'm generally around every windy day.

Or you could hold on for another month or so and grab a Flow 10 '09. Rumour has it they have been tweaked in all areas over the 08's but every kite manufacturer says that about their kites every year so until I can ride one, I ain't stickin my neck out and giving it the big tick.
