Has any one had a go on the ts 15m looking for a lite wind kite and it's one of my options how does it go ? I hate read that the relaunch isn't that graAt ? I'm 70kg and ride flat water any views would be great Cheers
Hi Johno
We added a 15m TS to our school quiver at the end of last season as we needed something easy to ride with in below 18 knots winds. I rode it many times and and I was impressed by it's power and upwind ability. It's what you would expect from a high aspect ratio kite. It feels and performs similar to an ozone edge. Due to it's profile it's not a fast turning kite so you need the wider bar and a wide grip to develop power in sub 15 knots winds. But once the apparent wind kicks in you can relax and it will happily sit there nice and stable.
Relaunching wise I tested in various conditions even in sub 10 knots wind and deep water and it did beautifully well. I had students relaunch it in 12 knots no worries at all. You just need to inflate it pretty hard in order to avoid wing tip collapsing during relaunching.
The only downside is the length of the bridles which do tend to catch around the struts or wing tips after a crash which can be a hassle if you're not experienced sorting out this sort of issue. If the bridles were a little shorter this wouldn't happen.
I met and rode with a Best team rider who specializes in wave riding on skimboards and he had the Best Ts 15m for low wind days and loved it.
Hope this helps
