How big a blowout is fatel (airush razor)

Hey guys pretty sure this is almost a pointless question but though id ask around before i bin what is a great kite..
My 11 airush razor blew out today at saftey bay..there is a 200mm rip in the leading edge and the bladder blow out with it..any brilliant repair methods out there? Or is this a case of bin it and move on with a new kite? Basicly
My fault for over inflating it due to being paranoid about a leaky valve

Depends how old the kite is. If its only an oldy might not be worth it. The bladder can be fixed yourself and the leading edge would prob cost 100-200 to get sewn back together

Its a 2013 was in near new cond before today..so might be worth getting my local repair guy to have a look first

No worries mate. Yeh id get it fixed if its a 2013 for sure, unless you get some crazy huge quote. I actually did the worlds dodgiest job on the LE of one of my old kites with a needle and thread. Somehow it actually is holding. I just use that one as a last resort

If you can't repair bladder, a new one might be at least $120..I've seen my leading edges repaired by a pro and they are surprising easy to repair by them.At least $80 for the L.E. by a pro

Doesn't sound too bad...Neil at Hold the Line kites will have it looking like new. Mate blew out a bladder and had a tear, I think around $150.

closer inspection shows its bigger than first thought..looks like the seam let go first

Yeh id be happy to pay a few hundred to repair it if that can be saved and not be a massive weak point again..ib heard neil is the man to speak to actually

Stop stressing and give him a call...trust me, Ive seen worse and he works like a magician.

I miss my 2013 11m. Best kite I've ever owned. For sure get it fixed man

they will fix that - but do your self a favour and get a new bladder.

That would cost me about $150 in NZ to get fixed, Certainly worth a fix is the rest of the kites in good nick.

Cheers guys knowing its fixable makes me feel so much better!
I havnt called neil yet was gona let him enjoy the long weekend and ill drop it off to him on Tuesday

Mate that's easily repairable. Don't bin it!

You might need a new bladder for around $80 or $180 with new valves, but still worth it.

Hi Rhysk
I ripped my LE in half and the ripstop sail cloth nearly to the trailing edge.
Repaired with a domestic sewing machine - The repair will actually be stronger than the original LE if you use dacron inside and out.
Use Polyester thread v69 or v92 . If you can't get that use Gutermann polyester Extra M782 -For heavy woven fabrics, leather and canvas covers etc.
Nothing is beyond repair - maybe need a new bladder though.

that kite was not over inflated and did not go at the seam first. NOT trying to give you arseholes but have seen heaps of this type of damage,

Where the tear in the fabric goes diagonal is where you had damaged it previously, probably a shell or sharp something, thats where it blew first.

well worth the repair cost if you ask me.

if it's hard to bend the LE, but still possible, that's good psi, if its impossible, then that's probably a bit much. I blew the valves off a rev once and still carry "the phobia" ;)

Just drop it into Neil, he'll more than likely source you a new bladder at a good price as well
