so i did a search for langkawi on here but no results, why not? it looks great, has anyone been? any wind there? nice flat water to use my new lunacy on?
and on another note, in case anyone cares, the main reason for this trip is to compete in the paintball world cup in Kuala Lumpur.
went last year and came fifth, which we were all stoked with, but plan to take it out this year, world champion has a nice ring to it, looking forward to putting it on my business card ![]()
Anyway, here is my teams website - Melbourne Mayhemhttp://mayhem.worldseriespaintball.com.au/
check it out, sponsers always welcome ![]()
Yep stayed at that same hotel last year for a couple of weeks in March. No wind to speak of as it was the rainy season. The pictures of the hotel you see are touched up for sure. It is old and certainly not as 5 star as the pictures make out. Don't expect the Sheraton but if it is just somewhere to sleep at night you need, then it will do the job. You can rent a 3 cylinder charade across the road for equivalent of $15 a day.
Stick with a car, stay away from the scooters and motorbikes, the local's driving too dangerous and don't let them keep your passport when booking. Give them a copy only.
Make sure you go on the cable car ride early in the morning, it is something else.
You MUST go to a little restaurant called Wonderland in Kedah, the main town. The seafood is amazing!!!! and at such good prices. The prawns are a must. The whole experience is great.![]()

thanks guys,
Barry, that is very helpful, thankyou. I will check out the four seasons, I was wondering if the hotel would be as good as the pics made it look.
Thanks again

just include kiteboarding as part of your vows, like she agrees to wash our gear, pump up your kite and sit on the beach watching you do kite-loops.
The Datai is a good resort, but it is located at a remote part of the island.
Wind wise don’t expect much at all, I live in Malaysia and I don’t know any of the kiting crew from the area actually kiting there. I've had a couple of mates who took their gear along, but it never made it out of the bag.
