Hey guys i have a waroo Best 13m 07 kite which i just bought and came with new lines. My promblem is that when i put it on the 3rd knot it seems to have a lot of slack on the left line. I have measured the knots and they seem to be the same length from the kont to the pully. Anyone got any ideas. It works good on the 2nd knot and 5th.
My other question is i went out today and my kite keeps falling out of the sky could this have something to do with the wrong lenghts of lines? The winds was around 10 knots. and when i pull on the tag for more power it seems like i get less and when i pull the depower tag i get more.
Im not sure how the lines setup for depower and more power i will have to suss out a manual.
Any advise would be good.
hey dude, my 2007 11m waroo seemed to do the same thing. Although my bridle lines only have 3 knots instead of the usual 6 i think it is?
I found my lines were slack in lighter winds but once i got it out in decent wind 20knts+ it was fine. But there still might be tuning adjustments needed to be done to mine because it just doesnt seem to sit there.
I am a begginer so my advice may not be the best. But possibly it just wasnt windy enough.
OK, might be able to help here, but I'm sure others will have more or different suggestions. I have flown the 13m 07 waroo pro for two summers.
With regards to the slackness on the left line on different knots, not really sure, this sounds odd, like something is not the same length, check the lines are the same length then check the bridle and the line with the knots on it are the same on both sides (i have replaced mine on a couple of different occasions, just make sure that they are the same length).
Now, with wind around 10 knots you have to be a very skillfull and alert kite flyer to keep it up there, I start at about 17 knots (being a fat bastard) so i dont have this problem, but also, due to the large amount of depower that it has it is possible to drop it from the sky deliberately in lighter winds, or accidently in your case.
About the power/depower, again, the amount of throw (distance travelled by the bar) that the bar setup has means that any adjustments that you make at the kite or at the trim strap do not come close to the amount of control that you have in your hands (the bar). I find that i use it in 2 positions at the kite: the second or third knot from the end, it originally came with 6 knots i think, but when i retrofitted i only put three on, one for the end and the two that i use, any further closer to the kite just means that you will be over sheeting constantly. Then use the trim strap to adjust how far the bar wants to sit from your body given the conditions on the day. Remember though most of the sheeting adjustment is done at the bar. For example i broke the 3 knots of one of the pigtails once, so put them both on the 4th (i dont usually use) but adjusted for this by depowering the kite a little at the strap. All was fine, just had a little less depower/sheeting out to use..... Does that make an sense?
Cheers
Hi Wassaby
Just wait until you try it in more wind. They can seem to do weird one sided things when the wind is that light. You want a good 14k to see if things even out. With the falling out of the sky bit, just remember a kite is like a wing and will stall if there is too much angle of attack relative to the wind direction and its strength. Watch closely what the kite is doing and experience will help you recognize what is going on. Hope this helps. ![]()
when the wind is light like that and you power up, you are actually shutting off the power. when the wind is stronger and you wanna unhook then you gotta depower your kite from the depower cleat otherwise it will backstall.
hope you understand me as im not to good at explaining things!![]()
Thanks for all the help. I will try it in stronger winds and see how i go. Also check my lines but they seem the same lenghts from the konw to the pully.
He means you must keep the kite flying and moving through the air without pulling all the way in on the bar or pulling all of the 'power' in at the strap otherwise you will backstall the kite, that is pulling on so much 'power' that you make the kite want to fly backwards. To create power you need to have air moving over the kite fast to create lift, you can do this in two ways with a kite, fly it in high winds or steer it so that it creates its own air speed over the kite.
What everyone has said is true, try it in a good 15 knots and it will bahave very differently. Practice practice ![]()
I HAVE A 13M WARRO AND IT FLYS FINE IN 10KNOTS ON THE 3RD KNOT. HAVE YOU CHECKED YOUR LINES FROM YOUR BAR?
COUPLE OF WEEKS BACK ME 90KG ON A 13WAROO POWERED UP LITTLE BIT OF DEPOWER ON, WATCHING GUY ON 12 NEMESIS,AROUND 75KG STUGGLING NO POWER WORKING THE KITE. 12 NEM = 13 WAROO. WHEN I CHECKED HIS BAR LINES HIS BACK LINES WERE 230MM TO LONG, SO EVEN WHEN HE PULLED BAR RIGHT DOWN HIS KITE WAS STILL DEPOWERED. ALSO CHECK BRIDLE ISNT SNAGED ON KITE. AND THIS WAS THE BAR AND LINES HE GOT WITH KITE.
well lines are brand new so wouldnt think it would be that. Woud it be better to fly the kite on the knot closes to the kite or on the 3rd knot?
If it was me, I'd have it on the knot that makes the kite slightly stall and start flying backwards when the bar is fully sheeted in and the depower strap is all the way out.
Understand?? Do this in say 14-15knts. Hopefully your not too light and you get lofted off the ground.
Have kite at 12 oclock
Have depower strap fully powered, pull bar all the way in. The kite should sit still for say 2-5 seconds and then just start drifting backwards.
Keep adjusting which rear knot you use until the kite just starts to fly backwards.
Start with the middle knot and work your way either up or down. From memory the third knot from the top works best.
Remember tho, if you put it on a higher knot and kite flys backward too much, then just pull your depower strap to tune the kite to the right spot.
^^^^Stating the bleeding obvious here^^^^
But if you do this properly and hold the bar straight, the kite will fly to one side if the line lengths are wrong.
Just ride it and whinge later if you dont get used to it
Check your line lengths tho!
Hey ![]()
First obvious - Are the new lines PRE STRETCHED ?
If not - tie them to something safe ( towbar - with no one in it
)
lean full bodywait back and hang till they stretch
adjust lines again till all are even
Secondly not enough wind, lines will be slack - youll over sheet it drops...nothing will work
after you saught that out
Mod time

"07 13m only" Just swap the rear attachment points for faster steering & more power & stop it from falling back - go to this link - read all - it works greathttp://www.doctor-tarifa.com/news/?page_id=7
Cheersz
I have always flown mine on 3rd knot from end, working from end furthest from kite. I tried to adjust bridle for rear lines, putting both on front tag, made kite stall when you turned kite. But even if lines are new check them make sure all are same length when bar is pulled to aprox 3/4 of way down.
Tie line ends to post etc, hook into harness, lean back to tighten lines, fully powered pull bar 3/4 way down, all lines should now be same length.
Have had my 13m for 10 months now and have used it in variety of winds down to around 10 knots and have never had any problems. If it pulls to one side all the time check the length of you arms, LOL.![]()

Also 10 knots is pushing any kite of any size to fly properly, take it out in a good 15 knots+ to check it out.
Yeah should get around 14 - 20 knots today so will take it out and see how i go. I might look at doing that mod. see how it flys. Thanks Guys
