I'm chasing some tips on how to land with a lot of speed such as after a kiteloop etc. I've been finding that I just seem to lose it when trying to land when I'm going faster than a certain speed.
Thanks in advance for your advice, ![]()

Hey DM,
Best bet is to spot your landing first, then make sure you bend your knees to absorb impact. If you are landing hot, you'll likely be coming in quite heavy.
I find it easier to let go with my back hand for balance. you also have to make sure that you land tail first and need to be aligned perfectly with the direction of travel otherwise a caught rail is gonna give your eye sockets a flush as you face plant so fast you wont have time to close your eyes (first hand experience!
)
If you are coming in so fast you know you aint gonna make it, butt check the landing to ease the load on your knees. No prizes for busted knees and a season watching from the side lines. ![]()

i found its easier to put your board in the water instead of your head makes the ride away look cleaner.
aim directly down wind.. pull the bar to your hip
Put your back hand out to ballance.. try land with the board flat, absorb it, hook in, ride away
i agree with Kite hard on the butt check cleanout , if you come in hot or slightly out of shape much better to save the knees from a wrenching
it also saves losing you board & body dragging up wind ![]()
