Hi Peeps,

Most of the riders who regularly ride at Pinnaroo would be as shocked as I am about the amount of litter and rubbish which has been left at the beach by fishing bogans and/or has washed up on the shores recently by the storms.

It really is disgusting and makes me cringe every time I walk down the beach. The bins don't return to the beach until the end of this month.

We did Clean Up Australia Day at Pinnaroo last March and I still have rubbish bags left over from that so if anyone would like to come down to Pinnaroo on Saturday this weekend, I'll come down early and we can do a clean up.

I have spoken to and arranged with Joondalup city council to come down and pick up the rubbish bags from the car park after we have finished on the Monday.

So, if you care about Pinnaroo and want to show council we are a dedicated concerned user group of the beach, then show some support and lets give the place the clean up it needs to return it to the state that we love to see the beach in.

It will take one hour of your time max. Remember that Joonadalup council is putting together a beach management plan taking all water sports and beach users into consideration and we could use some good karma.

This Saturday October 24, 11am til 12pm. Come and see me at the truck for bags etc.

Cheers,

KH

Hey Thanks Rez,

Nice to hear from you. I'll contact Surfrider next time we organise a clean up but will probably let them know the stuff we find to help them target the right rubbish for future.

We do Clean Up Australia Day at Pinnaroo on 1st March each year too, so keep that day free people!

Love the beach? then help to keep it clean, it won't clean itself.

Cheers and thanks to all the peeps that have pledged support, see you all on Saturday if not sooner.

Cheers,

KH

Hey Zac,

Thanks for the tip, changed . For anyone who was going to go back in time and turn up on the 24th Sept, don't worry about hiring the time machine, we can do it this Saturday instead.

Cheers

Hi Everyone,

This is a big shout out to all the crew who turned up today to lend a hand and remove some of the crap from Pinnaroo Point. In all, 16 magnificent, concerned and beautiful humans turned up to get the job done.

Everyone pitched in some super human effort to clean out 16 garbage bags full of rubbish ranging from bottles, cans and usual rubbish, to umpteen full bags of doggie doo, many dozens of tissues and condoms (used) from in under the bushes in the dunes, tradesman waste, asbestos, car tyre, old wire fencing, and all manner of stuff dumped within the pristine bushland and dune area.

You guys and girls have my eternal respect for going all the way and cleaning up some really disgusting stuff! What a fair dinkum bunch of bloody champions. You all ROCK!

Pinnaroo is again, a beautiful place thanks to a dedicated bunch of winners!

I can't thank you all enough. Now it's up to council to remove the collected waste.

Cheers all!

KH
