Ive had my Helium for a year now and keen for an upgrade.
Its a great kite but im looking towards a second edge V8 maybe a 19m or a flysurfer 21m... the helium gets me out from 8-10knts to about 18-20 conformably.. do mostly freestyle and freeride with a mix of surf and lake... have 2 boards lite wind shinn rayale 150 x 50 and bronq 136 x 42 im 88 kegs.
Basically looking for the next level of lite wind kite.
Im open to all suggestions and variations so fire away.
Wow 8-10 knots is super light. Maybe get into foil boards and keep the kite you have if you want to get lighter. Iv got a 15m but still need gusts to 15knots to have fun unhooked on.
Why the need for a new light wind after just one year? The helium is a great kite and most people keep their biggest kite the longuest!
Foil board sounds like what you want as a new challenge.
I must admit the Helium is at times the most used in my quiver....and certainly a great kite.
Foilboards look like a bit of fun though... a demo would be nice.
Anyone have an idea how many hrs on average it takes to learn to ride one.?

1-2 hours to get riding. 60 hours to get better (foiling tacks/gybes).

Interesting to hear that it's your most used kite for Sydney (Wollongong) conditions. What sort of boards do you ride at present? In the lake or ocean?
Lately we havent had enough NE to call regular..(ocean)
I have bronq 136 and king gee 150 50...
I use the 13 edge v8 and 11 often enough but can hang on to the helium to about 18 - 20 knts... i lIke to be powered up nicely
If its steady wind.
We get lots of sw and south (lake)that can be gusty as hell and up and down so then better to set up a smaller kite for the 25 - 30 kt bullets that come through on the lake which Is common.
