Ever wanted to make your own boards??
Face it...... We all have!
Recently, while buying and searching for kitesurfing toys, I found myself at the back of the owners warehouse.
AND THERE IT WAS!
A rack of metal plates, with each plate had different rocker on it. Some for kiteboard, skateboards, snowboards.... You name it.
It was a board mould. These guys at one stage made all their boards here in Australia, but now manufacture overseas.
I won't name any names who they are, but let's say they have / had the contracts for BEST , and many many more. Infact, they make most the boards for most of the companies. the best part of all.......... Is it was .....wait for it......FOR SALE !!
It's a damn shame I don't have the money or a warehouse (or a misses that will let me spend all my time making boards)
From what the owner told me, he was making wood core boards.
I didn't ask when I was there, so I will ask our forum users.
Is it possible to make foam core boards and / or carbon with foam core, on the same rocker table?
I will put some photo's up next week when I pick up my order from him, so that all who are interested can check out the rocker table.
Each metal plate can be adjusted at different places, so that you can customise boards accordingly.
Sweet huh?
Anybody wanna loan me some cash ??
I will make you custom boards.

You can make your own rocker table for very little cost. I made mine from 2 x $10 packing sheet of mdf and $50 of big bolts.
If you want to make boards you will be able to make them lot cheaper than buying them over the counter. Of course you get the satisfaction of riding what you make which is super cool.
Here's a picture of my press and board builds
Ragzilla, are these molds 1 piece or 2? I (like Plummet) make my own 2 piece press molds that are relatively cheap but a little time consuming to make. Post some pics when you can it would be interesting to check out what you have found.
nice mould ....
if mould was for wood core it was probably made with extra rocker to accommodate spring back. With foam the mould had the actual rocker with with paulownia mould had bigger rocker than actual board designed rocker.
but if all adjustable rocker tables as long as you can adjust to what u want...
My completed boards from china cost less that buying just the materials here.
Deff two piece.
Steel plates, I think heat up? Not sure on that, you might need an oven.
Hey plummet, did you use any kind of vacuum pack for your hardener??
I'm new to the science of board making, but have been doing some research on it?

This might be your guy from another forum:
" I-Beam Press and Materials, Melbourne
Just a feeler here to see if anyone may be keen. I'm moving interstate for work and away from snow shortly, so my gear is likely to be sitting unused for some time.
I've also got a bunch of materials. 2 or 3 machines cores. A couple core blanks. VDS. Unidirectional carbon (150m or so of 1" thick stuff). Black base material. Edges for say 8 boards. A fair few board sets worth of inserts. Some silky oak veneer if you're interested in that.
It's all located in Melbourne, VIC and would need to be picked up. I'm looking for around $8,000 for the lot, can provide more details if anyone is genuinely interested.
I still hold on to a dim hope of starting a board company one day, so this is a half-hearted attempt to sell. I'm open to negotiation but not desperate for cash.

I do all my boards with a vacuum...
