Anyone been kitesurfing on Guam?
I travel to Tokyo often for work and was thinking I could take a " side trip " out of Tokyo to South Pacific. Guam came up as an option, have a non kiting acquaintance there, and my Japanese colleagues said it's easy to get there.
Anywhere else that's easy to get to?
I'm into easy waves and hydrofoiling
I live in Sweden BTW.
Yo Dude I was there in March for work (no gear) and it looked awesome with heaps of flat water spots right around the island. I did see a very few guys out kiteing so there may be a local scene/facebook group. As for waves/season I'm unsure.
Def give it a go and make sure you do one of the war history tours about the Japanese occupation of the island I'm not a tour kind of guy but on this island its real good with tunnels and stuff to see also visit "man overboard" (a pub) to walk the plank.
Lastly if you are staying for a few days hire a car or use busses to get around because taxi's were ridiculous expensive and stay out of the viking bar its the only strip joint ive been in where every woman starts her routine by wipeing down the pole and floor with a big squirt bottle of metho.
Thanks for the info. I'm sure my old friend will steer me clear of the worst. He's been living there since 1977.
Any other destinations from Tokyo??
