Hi Kiterash,
Green head is a good place to kite. It's also well known in our freedivers club that it's a good place to come up against GWS of the XL variety ![]()
I suggest not doing too much bodydragging up there
Cheers,
KH
yEP,had some great kiting at green head, the place puches a lot of wind in the arvo and the beaches are epic.
Had some of my top memories of kiting on what appear to be exposed reefs at very high speed in very clear water on butter smooth surface while praying not to catch a fin as the damage would be ugly![]()

Kited green head over new years, on the far side of the bay from where the jetty/boat moorings are. The turn-off to get there was a right hand about 300m in from the main hiway (Indian Ocean Road??)
The spot we kited from was a little on-shore, and I'm sure there are better spots around, but the wind was NUKING and the water was butter flat so we couldn't complain :) Only real issue was the amount of shallow reef around meant you had to be pretty cautious about the tricks to try out.
We were only there for a few hours (coming up from Cervantes). I'm sure there are some great spots if you have time and/or a 4WD to find them.
We sessioned Green Head three weeks ago and it was awesome. Wind picked up by 7am and we were on the water by 8 am. It nuked all day. Only saw one pollie and no other kiters. Best wave is a k straight offshore from the jetty. Its an excellent clean left which is good for multiple bottom turns before it runs out. Town is nearly desolate so keep your expectations in check and come supplied. 3 hr drive from Perth. Do it.
