Hey guys ,

I'm heading to Greek islands for 3 weeks end of August/early September.
I'm heading straight to Paros and gonna hire a kite package and explore the place.
Just want to know if there's any hidden places or is it just the main kite beach?

also any other islands that have good kite spots. I've seen Rhodes and maybe Naxos are
other places to head to.

I'm usually into finding my own spots but am on limited time and dont want to waste any hunting
spots that aren't there.

all I need is a point in the right direction . Cheers

Buritto,

There are three main kite spots in that area. Paros (Pounta) as you mentioned, Naxos (Mikri), and Mykonos (The bay just North of Ornos). You don't see too many kites outside the main kite areas, I've always assumed this is probably due to a lot of beaches being very busy with people, or the common rocky coastline / geography.

I've kited a couple of little bays on Rineia (Which is an island about 7 kms west of Mykonos), accessed via boat. Not sure if I was allowed to be there, but I had some alone time in 25 knots and butter-smooth water.

I love kiting in that area, good wind and clear water. Have fun.

Full of islands and beaches to explore. I went in August and it blew everyday 25-35 knots from the North. This was in 2013. Not many other kiters around which was surprising. Things have probably changed now. Expect to pay through the nose for kite hire so bring what you can.
