Hi Everyone,
My first post so I'll get straight to the point. Was wondering from everyone else's experience, who you'd recommend for lessons in Perth? Moving back home in October after 6 years in the UK and want to get straight into it! I've got a 2m trainer kite that I've been flying for the past few months in anticipation of my return home. Can't wait!!
Cheers all.

You can't go past Darren at AKS up at Pinnaroo Point. From what I've seen his school is the best in WA. From all safety aspects to getting you on the board. You can PM him as kitehard. I've never used him as I've been kiting for a long time but I used to kite there and from what I have seen to the others around your in good hands.
Good luck and welcome back to the beautiful country.

cant really go past the expertise and professionalism of Darren at AKS....
prob the best setup in the whole perth area and i dont know anyone that wouldn't recommend him!
can find his details in the site sponsership section along with other schools and shops in the perth area.
Jaffa,
Where in Perth are you going to be staying??? Kiteboarding Perth @ Mullaloo taught me @ the start of the year and thay are 100% Professional and very passionate about the sport!!!
Phil @ WA Surf down in safety bay would be another recommendation.
while all very professional people , darren at AKS gets my vote in pinneroo

Yep I agree. Darrens your man.
Not only for lessons, but havin a shop litterally on the beach he's got a great setup to demo and buy your gear too.
If you wait three months I'm there!
But besides that I agree I only heard positive feedback for Darren...
Enjoy![]()
Thanks everyone!
Sounds like Darren at AKS is the man to see. Will definitely get in contact with him when I get home, along with a few other leads you've all helped me out with!!
Thanks again!
Jaf.
A friend of mine had lessons with WA Surf in Safety Bay and just raved about how good they were, that is about 1 hour drive south of where Darren is so depends where you live. They claim to have the best venue in Perth as the water is only chest deep.
I would recommend looking into what type of riding you are going to want to do Free ride, surf etc and do a lot of research into what kites are available pros and cons of the different systems 4 or 5 line and how they re-launch etc.
Then if possible try an find a school that does lesson on a brand that you are thinking of buying or that does demos of them so when you have done your lessons you can try them out as a school that has taught you will be more willing to lend a student a kite to demo as they will be aware of your skills etc.
As long as they are IKO instructors
there all good
LOVE WATCHING THE MILLIONS OF KITERS AT PINAROO
