I was at Caloundra today and saw something i have been told only happens to those **Beginners** (which i am one of) you know those first season kitesurfers with no idea and frowned upon by "some" seasoned kitesurfers.

It shows anything can happen! no matter how long you've been in the sport.

By the way Luke is a great guy and is always willing to help out, lend his gear etc.

He is also an awesome kitesurfer with lots of experience.

Hope he gets a laugh out of these pics like i did !!

Wooops! lol,
Always the way never a camera around when you pull of one of your best moves but when you stuff up.. you get Busted! nice photos well done!

In my defence there was a big wind shadow around the corner where I was trying to land my kite around all the beach users,The kite stalled and was going down there was heaps of rocks around so I could not run backwards to get tension back on the lines so I just let it fall out and was thankfull that it landed on the tree rather than on some kid! Pretty funny as no one was hurt and there was no damage to the kite thank god. They make em Tuff those switchblades!

Cheers

Luke

Haha! Not quite the kite action he wanted for sure!

Consolation is he now has an 'auto-vented' kite. When the wind picks up, those new holes will obviate the need to come in and change to a smaller kite!

Waiting for the review... [}:)]

PS I promise to see the funny side if anyone ever posts pics of my stuff ups here!

hey, give Luke a break. They were actually shooting the new "Dorky Dad" promotional ad for Caloundra at the time and the cameras were everywhere just waiting for something to happen to a "Dad".

Luke, remember that last one night stand you had? There's something she has to tell you. . . . . .

Simon71 , you are so cruel.
"Hope he gets a laugh out of these pics like i did !!"
Its not Him, Its the wind & the kite, they love trees, & always make the news.
Good to see the kite survived.

Yeah it doesn't really matter sometimes on how much experience you have when **** happens it happens.

I was jogging down at Brighton-le-sands about two weeks ago and watched a well known kite shop owner self launch off the beach and straight away he lost control crashing hard nearly taking out a couple sitting down on the beach. His kite landed on the fence and i'm sure it must have done some damage....

So remember it can happen when you least expect
