Going from Winging to Kiting. Any helpful tips that differ from winging. Been over 10 years since I've kited, took a few lessons.
I went the other way and from windsurfing. Big differnnce is leaning back against loads of power. Kiting might be 40% board and 60% kite control, winging is 90% foil/board control. First thing to think about in kiting is kite, in winging it is the foil/board. If something isn't working it's most likley what your doing with foil.

If you're used to wing foiling then try to progress to kite foiling - after 15 years on a twin tip, my first day foiling was my last day on the TT.
If you're learning kite foiling, grab a workhorse, something that is great for 90% of conditions -an 8m or 9m single strut as recent as you can afford.
Picked up a new Cabrihna Contra in 13m and 9m with their bar and wow. The new gear is miles ahead of what I used to ride. Easy starts and very very predictable. Mainly going to play with directionals in surf or a foil.
