Hey all, I was been given a gopro as a present a few months back & have not used it yet - I,m thinking a line mount might be my best option, just to get a few pics & maybe some video.
Anyone have a few tips on which mounts they have found to give the best results & where to get them, besides eBay?
And don't worry I won't be posting any of it here on SB.
hey topple over,
I experimented a bit with mounts (we all do???) tried the line mount I copied from Keahi (5m up lines) and found it too hard to keep stable, as session went on it ended up staring off into the distance with no kiters in frame.
I made a backpack mount out of plumbing pipe and the shots it takes look like this...
But guys are making awesome prototypes of that same over-the-shoulder-POV style vision mounts like this one
no i made a line mount out of an old bar a la keahi and mounted it 5 m up the lines.. i found the ones right in the fork of the lines only showed the kiter and barely any of the aspect, basically just you and the board, which is fine if you want a #selfie. Its personal preference really.
Any mount might get boring from just one angle. If you can remove the camera and film from different positions it can make the vid more interesting, A head cam or a back pack mount that you can remove while kiting to get different angels works well.
Below is with a harness mount with a quick clickable Gopro release with a line attached to the camera while testing the plank.
