Does anyone know if the GoPro HD is compatible with iMovie on Macs?
We have a Sony HDD Handy cam and it's not compatible. iMovie wont recognise the camera when connected.
Does the same happen with Macs or is it sweet?

And can you really take it to 60m underwater? So scuba diving with it is okay?

Hi Medic

Does the Mac recognise the Sony cam? If you can download the photos onto your Mac or a PC you can always use a free online converter to change the format to say a '.mov' file and then import them into imovie. Just google free online converter from say MP4, whatever file type the Sony has created to .mov etc.

Yes, my Mac does recognise the Sony and I can take the movies off and convert them. I have been doing this since i got the camera last year. But what a pain in the ass. Drag and dropping files, converting them, importing them into iMovie. You can imagine how long 3 hours of off/ on taping takes.

I want to know if the GoPro is recognised straight away in iMovie and you can edit straight away, no fooling around. Plug in, iMovie opens by itself and editting can begin.

Apparently Sony and Apple don't get along.
