Hey there,

I'm a novice to intermediate kiter looking to buy my next kite, and have been offered an 07 11m Waroo pro for a good price.

My question is will it be grunty enough for me I'm 80kg ish and 6 foot 2 in winds from 15-25 knots?

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Would work fine if you have a surfboard and a smallish tt

The pro has a small leading edge and I have seen a second hand one blow up with lots of pressure.
It folds up in the air when flying without enough pressure in the leading edge.
Catch 22.

Serioulsly this time

If you cant hussle with it in 15 - 25 knots, you need more lessons or you must be 180kg !!!!

Buy it - work it - enjoy it

A mate who is 95 kg has had a 13m Waroo Pro for a couple years now with no probs whatsoever - pump up hard though. He also has a 9m but uses the 13m about 85% of the time in the same wind conditions that you mention.

Looks like a great kite to me and I reckon an 11m would suit you well for that wind range.

ok so it has been a while since i was on the rave brigade but the best "gear advice" i ever had was from a guy at a drum and bass gig And for sure you can beleive me this was good gear i went from 95kg to 65kg in under 2 mths was kiting for 6 hours straight going home taking more gear advice going to the club all night then going for an other 6 hour kite session fully cranked not sure if there is an 09 model available but i am sure if you take a drive at 4am in Vic Park Perth and talk to anyone walking the street they will be able to give you some great gear advice....*FULL STOP* wow think i just had a relapse of that gear....

meth is the [}:)] don't use gear and kite....

best "kite gear advise" i can really give is... go to your local stores and DEMO some big kites... 13 REV is so good. 14 T3 is also good. 13 Waroo is cool... but don't discard the others... go try some kites and buy the "gear" you like.

sitting on my ass in Switzerland i am almost 82kg now...

demo's available at www.choicekitesurfing.com.au (didn't check what state u r in but i am sure your local shop will help u make the best choice...)

Not too sure what you mean by how tall am I in light/strong wind but I stand around 6'2" or 187cm.

Not sure if this helps but please let me know

I'm 6'3" and ~80kg so pretty much the same build as you.
I started out with an 11m Ozone Instinct and found myself to be struggling in 15kn but well lit at 18-20. Ditched that and moved onto a 12m Naish Alliance. Yeah, they're a different style of kite but the extra 1m has made a big difference to low-wind kiting and i'm now holding ground at 14-15kn.

It also makes a big difference what board your on as you'd get away with an 11m in 15kn with a larger board.

11mtr Waroo pro will be fine. Alot more power produced from this kite then others. It was my main kite for 07 and now Im on a 10 Nemi. Im 100kg, wakestyle.

It should be fine, It all comes down to flying skills the better you are at flying the kite the smaller kite you can use. But in saying that it all depends on what you want to do with it, if big jumps are you thing then maybe a size bigger might be the best thing for you even if wakestyle is what you want it for then don't go to small there's nothing worse than watching some one who dose wakstyle and claims a underpowered pass. Wakestyle should be nice and lit. Now if waves are your thing then go a size under what you would usually.
But at the end of the day its all about flying skills.
