I am collecting ideas and information to help form a kiting event in SA.
As a member of SAKSA, I have already watched them successfully run many events in the past year.
Once I have a good selection of categories, I will formally ask SAKSA if we can form up an event.
I would like to brainstorm any ideas, from the sublime to the ridiculously funny and then sift through them to form a weekend of different kiting activities.
Perhaps the organisers of other state’s events such as kite stock & kitecross could provide some direction (on a smaller scale)?
Some ideas that have been used previously;
Downwind race.
Buoy racing (is this how kite cross is run?)
Slalom course, for board or body drag.
Body drag rescue.
New equipment demonstration/test
Worst / comical kiting attire (this should get the boardies over wetsuits outed)

Strangest type of board / ride used on the weekend,(kiting related of course). Perhaps the dude with the water skis could give it a shot?
Have instructors available to improve/ advise on technique & sell lessons.
Demo new tricks.
Demo launch & land techniques.
Fastest over a set distance, (kite drag racing)
Awards for best trick of weekend, best splashdown and of course a SAKSA favourite of an HTFU award for the weekend.
So if you were to arrange a whole weekend of different kite activities what would you do?
