What do you guys think of the old turbo diesel? I'm guessing it will have heavyish bar pressure and wont turn too well, but should relaunch pretty good and would suit most learners looking for a cheap 2nd hand kite?

TD1 maybe, but TD2 is in no way slow and has a very reasonable amount of bar pressure... Low bar pressure is overated IMO, you need to to be able to 'feel' for the kite to some extent.

Bows: Most low end so biggest range. On every bow kite i've ever tried the bar pressure is more significant to other types of kites, people do get used to it but i always preffered the C and Hybrid feel. Less power in the turns they are a more Park and ride type of kite with maybe a little sign wave.
Good for: people wanting a one kite quiver that arn't interested in unhooking (they tend to rip your arms off when they are unhooked)

Recommend - If your a teenager or relatively young i wouldnt definetly go C or Hybrid and deffinetly not reccommend getting a Bow

Y do you think that bows cant unhook. i ride a swthblade 3 6m and 10m and think that they are the best thing for unhooking. you can kiteloop them and boost with them and unhook with them and waveride. And why dont you reccomend a teeneager or a younger person getting a bow as i am 14 and have been kiting for 7 months and in that time have gone from not even being able to get up and now am onto Kiteloop raleys, F-16, s-bend, big kiteloops an learning raleys to blind, so bows dont hold you back if you are young or old as i am very happy with my progression.

Felix - dude - go the new hybrids, don't pay that price for an 07 model. Once you get past the beginner stuff you can handle the speed of the new hybrids (like a Vapor) no problems.

Look on buy and sell - You can pick up a practically brand new 12m Vapor II (just released) for around that price (bit of bargaining) - check out Lance's in Australind. Used it 4 times and stuffed his neck playing footy - firesale!

I have one and I can guarantee you it is one very very nice kite. Absolutely craps all over my 07 bridled bow, in every respect.

dude,

there is a difference between throwing a railey and doing a mobe. All the moves u listed above could be done on a bag of ****. For harder unhooked moves that are done properly (eg. unmuscled, kite low passes) a bow or sle is not up to it. Yeah sure you can do it on a bow but its then all about strength and dingle. Watch vids of the cabrate kids on Switchblades and EH kites, MUSCLE!.

Can someone tell me if the 05 SS Fuels can be flown 5 line, or do they need a centre pigtail added to them?

There is a 7m i've seen for less than $100, no bar and lines, 1 pin hole patch. Was hoping i could use the bar and lines from my SS Link and fly it 5 line.

Cheers for any help

I think your a little mixed up, switchy's are a hybrid kite like Havocs Revs etc., no pulleys on the bar and a lot less flat then your standard bow.

Your bow kites tend to be much flatter and usually have pulleys on the bar, T2, Xbow etc.

well...... actually. a "bow" kite is called a "bow" kite because the trailing edge is the same shape as the leading edge and thus looks like a "bow" its got nothing to do with all that other stuff.

I don't really think it matters when it comes down to it what kite your riding (C or Bow), it's how you do it. Dre rides switchblades pretty good and new bows don't have the same sort of undepowereable unhooked pull as the first lot. C's in ideal conditions are probably better but it is really about rider comfort.
