Thx to those who replied to my request for info on winds in the Whitsunday Islands in February.
As they often do, plans have changed and we are now looking at doing a drive holiday from Broome south then back up, taking 2 to 3 weeks.
Based on another recent topic I might classify myself as beginner bordering on intermediate, with a Zephyr and a 12m, so now I'm looking for some guidance on where the best places to kite would be, again in February. We plan to caravan park camp so it would be nice to be able to spend a max of 2 days in one place then another day travelling to the next kite spot.
Suggestions/locations/secret spots would be appreciated.
Thx Cauncy. Perhaps Santa will get me a more suitable size for Chrissy......
And that size might be........
Some great spots on the way down, exmouth deserves at least a week visit, gnarloo, caernarvon, shark bay inc peron lagoons, horrocks, port Gregory, geraldton, my home spot Dongara, loads of little spots between here and lancelin, from there down I'll pass it onto someone more local for spots, around here an 8 or 9 is my most used kite, the wind comes in around 12 and builds through the day, so hit it up early and you'll get a run on your 17 and 12
Hows Broome on a South Easterly? I'm heading over there next week for a week and the current weather pattern looks pretty tasty.
yep, se is good for town beach, but if you are reading off sea breeze, wind finder etc take 5-8 knots off
