Absolutely stoked to present my new work here!
Calling the board(s) Shinai Black Diamond, thinking it is the World first twintip with a Vector Net carbon mesh.
Construction: Bamboo core, Paulownia upper deck, DuraClear topsheet and PU rails:
137x40.5, ~4cm rocker, 4mm concave
130x41, ~3cm rocker, 4mm concave

Awesome looking boards
Inspirational, might have a crack one day myself.
One question, is the carbon mesh designed to effect the performance? I'm thinking on the bottom of the board ( under tension during flex) would be the spot.

I think the Vector Net is for torsion, rather than tension under the board which is glassed. I like seeing wood and using as less carbon as possible.

I noticed the PU rails are green one side and red the other side - port and starboard ?? but it only works in one direction - just interested but I wish I had the skills and gear to make a board like that !! How long does it take you to make one? I have seen weekend workshops offered for around $800 for surfboard making where you learn to make a board and take home your first effort - that would be awesome!! - is it possible to make one of these in a weekend??
Building requires a lot of prep work to get ready to build. Once that's done then yes you could build in a weekend.
Anyone can build a board. It just takes research, planning and some determination to do it. The processes involved are very easy. But at the same time you need to build knowledge to make the process easy.
... I'm talking in riddles...
You can build a board with basic hand tools. drill, jigsaw, sander.

I do rails like that to know on which side the board is when upside down in the water :) And it looks ok I hope.
The rails are pre made and you can see how easy is to assemble them (some vids @shop). Almost no skill, except routing the channel:)
Yes, it is possible to do that in a workshop. At home I would start with something simple. The problem with paying $800 is that you'll be hooked :) Seriously :)

Quick question - what are you using for basesheet material? Duraclear as both topsheet and basesheet? Or something else?
Of course you can make a board without any extra plastics, but minor scratch resistance is a good thing if you ride up the beach, and in shallows, grinding along on the base!

ss, only basesheet is Duraclear, on top is Gold Spar varnish. The bottom what you see is a protective film on Duraclear. When taken off, it will be crystal clear and even more reflective:)

Btw, I am stoked with a quality of new batch WA grown Paulownia which will make awesome boards!
Got the Curtin University "Mechanical testing of P. timber" document, fantastic wood in many ways.
Give it a go! It is not a rocket science :)
