Hi guys - just after some opinions. I currently fly B3's and happy with them but need to adjust my quiver so looking to cost effectively make the change for the 11m I want to get.

Is the B4 that much better than the B3? Eg what to choose between $400 for the B3 11m (kite only no bar) or pay and extra $200 for a B4 (again no bar) - both kites in comparable condition.

So which way to go ??

Yeah thanks Cauncy for the bar comment - wont be an issue as I have a post B4 (corrosion cancer disaster) bar to go with it.

I'm hearing from some that the B6 kills the B5 which eats the B4 - and leaves the B3 for dead ?? Other say the difference between the B4 and B6 is cosmetic ??

What to believe ?? - I cant easily demo - cuz Im 2.5 hrs away from the closest kite shop ( opportunity knocks me thinks!)

lambie a local didnt like the feel of the 6 ,as in his words it felt unconnected, too light on the bar, but maybe time on the kite would sort that, personally im not a big lover of kites that are too light on the bar ,

Rad kites that get better and better each year. Have had dos - b6. only stuttle changes each year, b6 is 1000% easier to unhook than the dos etc. Bar has really been the same the whole time, just a few minor tweeks - why change it if it works. If you can afford it take the 4.

Cheers

The B4 11m is an awesome kite, bar pressure is great, can't say that I would say the B6 is lighter I would say smoother so maybe that why they say it feels light...!

For me the B4, B5 and B6 are all great kites will little tweaks always getting better...... ;)

The Dos was a power machine and had some lethal boost but dropped out the sky if you don't commit......

I still have Dos's and a B3 though mainly fly Parks and have flown 4 5 and 6's. I didn't find a huge difference between 3 and 4, slightly lighter bar pressure and a tad quicker in the turns. 600 sound a bit steep though for a 4, kite only. I sold a 10m 3 in great condition (1 seasons use) with bar and lines around 6 months ago for 500.

Hey Lambie,
I owned the dos (12 and 8), a b4 (10m) and now fly the b5 (11 and 8)
Never flew the 3 though. The Dos was really low wind biased and did ask massive commitment. Very hard on the body as they are very powerfull.
The B5 is a much smoother version of the B4 I think. Once I tried the 5 I bought those. My advise is to skip the 4 and go for the 5 (or 6). The low end is great. I get out on my 11 when otherds are on 12 m Switchblades(a kite that according to the tests in mags has a magnificent low end). The high end is fabulous. The 5 is easier to control. It reacts faster and more linear to bar imput than the 4. the 4 tended to have more of a sudden power kick (like a turbo charged car, all of a sudden, bang...) Now that can be fun but also unpredictable. The B5 just feels more refined. IMO you can't go wrong with ether of these unless you are looking to go race or wave only.
I had bar issues as well and they where replaced for the latest bar at no cost (even though I bought it second hand, no receipt etc.). F-One's customer service is the everything you could hope for I think.
I hope that helps mate

It's a personal thing, I like to feel the kite, don't fly bandits regular but did notice a very different feed back from what I'm used to with my ozones, if you get the chance to fly one you'll see what I mean
