i dont wanna withold the new Pulse II video made by flysurfer.
nice wave and freestyle action.
here is the link:http://www.flysurfer.com/Gallery/v/videos/PULSE2/
enjoy watching it..
99 megs for low res .Nice if your on cable !!
why don't they make a smaller teaser and you can go and see the finance dept if you want the vid and book your download
I have been wondering how good the new flysurfer kites are. Great vid but I wanted to see the kite more- The synergy (pl)vid showed the speed and constant pull of the kite particularly through the kiteloop shots. This vid showed a kiteloop once (and then repeated). If there are any vids out there of the newest fs or pl kites please let us know.
thnx
Hey Batton
Go see Ian Young, he will hook you up for a demo. The Speed2 is an amazingly good foil kite, and has superior lift and upwind compared to most LEI's. Ian and myself will have Pulse2 kites to demo and sell soon.
I agree the video is not good at showing the kites off, its 3.30 mins before we see a glimpse of a kite flying.
Way too much focus on the rider (no offence meant), the videos need to show boosting, its what most people are into this sport for. Dangle spins and dangle nar passing is great if you are into that stuff, very boring to watch shot after shot of it though.
Show more of the kite in kite videos!

i agree
the dude could have been riding any kite and we would not have known it, the vid needs to show stuff like reverse launch and turning, still it looks like an awesome kite.
you are absolutely right..
give us some time and we´ll give you a complete manuel as we used to do..
actually relaunch is pretty the same as the pulse I whereas it seems to be even easier. compare it with a bow kite, where you just have to pull on backline. it is the same principle.
kiteloops.. yeah.. do it with the pulse II. but as a matter of fact: you need balls. difference is, that the kite pulls like a hurricane at the first second, but than catches you before landing.. i must confess, that i´m also afraid of doing it, but i have never felt so safe as i do with the pulse II..
eventuelly, talking is nothing against testing.. so contact ian. we wanna take the new product as soon to you guys as possible..
i´m looking forward to come to australia and talk and the main thing; ride with you down there..
have fun and we see us.. with pulseII

How does the Pulse 2 compare to the pyscho 3?. It seems like more of a all around freeride kite where the p3 is more set up for freestyle and competition riding. Is this true?
Bennie, I don't know about all the marketing hype but for me comparing the original Pulse to the P3 (I've owned both) is that the P3 is quicker steering, jumps higher, and is more stable (despite some other opinions to the contrary). The Pulse excels in relaunch - there is no better kite at this, and therefore suits the beginner/intermediate. Not to say that the P3 is difficult to relaunch but it is a different technique.
If they've got the Pulse 2 to turn quicker than the P3 you'd have a pretty good wave kite i think.
I wouldn't know freeride from freestyle so I'd be happy with either I reckon.
kiteforum.com has a pretty decent Pulse 2 discussion. Armin Harich of Flysurfer addresses a lot of questions on this forum.
compare the pulse 2 to the psycho 3..
well.. this is actually what we (teamrider) don´t know, which kite we will prefer in the future..
turning speed of the pulse 2 has encreased extremely and the stability as well. the lift is much better than the pulse´s one. but hangtime is better of the psycho 3.
so we actually don´t know what to do. for freestyle and waveriding the pulse 2 seems to be as appropiate as the psycho 3 whereas ps 3 has more power..
just ask more in detail and i try to find better words.

You must admit by the video the boys are getting good lift but we have no idea on the wind speed or the size of the kite being used . All Flysurfer kites are efficient but it would be good to know wind speed and kite size being used . The pulse 2 /8 mtr.is expected in Australia by Christmas ( fingers crossed ) and the 12 mtr in the new year ,call Jeff Roberts @ flysurferkites , Ian young & Kite power .
Also a demo day at the Gold Coast for the Speed 2 and Psycho 3 on Saturday 8th Dec. in the broadwater at Surfers Paradise .
The first 8m Pulse arrived in Oz this arvo. Robbo & I took it for a spin immediately :-)
Initial impression: the wind was patchy peaking at 15-17 knots and I (90kg) could barely stay upwind on my Spleene Zone but the kite had grunt in the peaks, didn't backstall in the lulls as early as the Pulse1 or Psycho3 but an 8m Speed2 would have would have made staying upwind easier. The turn rate of the Pulse2 was awesome, seemed more stable and had a lighter bar pressure than the other models. Bottom line: I want to fly it more, but I can see it being my favourite all-rounder/ wave kite.
Unfortunately we only have the one demo kite in Oz ATM and we still can't promise a delivery date on limited first stock - probably between Xmas and New Year. The 8m demo will be with Mark Hayton down at Leighton tomorrow arvo then Scarbs until it goes to Kitepower Sydney next week for 10-14 days before going to Jeff Roberts in Queensland. So if you want to test fly it get in touch with your closest dealer. There's already a waiting list on kites as they come off the production line so it's first in, best dressed.
Took the PULSE2 for another spin @ Scarbs for a sunset run last night - this time I was powered up in gusty 17-20 knots. I love this kite! Turns nice and quick with precision, it's definitely the most stable kite I've flown for ages - no tendancy to stall early - hardly felt the gusts except a few killer lulls - instant depower on command. Down the line wave riding was sweet - kite just followed if high and kite loops were smooth, no luffing or wing-tip folding when lines were completely slack.
There's another video of the PULSE2 in action in Rosas. You can download it here: http://www.flysurfer.com/gallery2_code/d/112828-1/Pulse2-in-Rosas-Imp-meeting.mpg
The one demo 8m we have is off to Kitepower Sydney today so
Yay!!!
Looks like we have some good wind returning next week Ian, could you compare the Pulse2 8M in power to a size of inlflato?
I'm guessing 10M/11M bow/hybrid??

Yeah 8m FlySurfer = 10/11m bow
There are some differences between FlySurfer models in feel, turn rate, stability, pop and stall point. But a FS is approx 20% more powerful than equivalent SLE.
.so on a cross shore day I can have waveriding fun on an 11 m flysurfer in 10 kts (white caps ,glassy water no ripple)
Yup Lach, I'm having fun in the waves here @ Scarbs on my 10m Speed2 or Psycho3 riding the Spleene Zone 159 x 43 wave board from 10-30 knots
Ok .Can we get that pup up here for a demo once Steve's done withit?

hey everybody..
first of all:
i´m back now from the German Snowkite-Championship. And I have to say that in freestyle snowboard 1st and 2nd (me!!) place are flysurfer´s and ski also the 1st place ![]()
we had the chance to test the new pulse II in snow. pretty cool. kitelooping is easy and it has a good lightwind ability. but this is sth. we´ve already known. what i was impressed, stabilty was extremely good.
my trip to australia becomes more and more in shape. seems that i will come with a couple of demo kites. so i need to know; which school or shop likes to test. i have to plan a bit. so write an email to me, that i hardly know what´s gonna happen.
date is still february to juli or maybe august. so contact me please and i know what i have to take with me.

have a nice day.

G`Day All
Had a chance to test the Pulse 2 here in Perth. The conditions weren’t great, a storm front with gusty 20 to 37 knot winds !.
I knew the kite was being shipped over east so didn’t want to miss the opportunity to give it a go.
The kite was easy to launch in the initial 20 knot winds, the usual sand on the tip self launch from the edge of the wind window technique. Flew nice and steady in the full arc until was parked over head. Was very surprised how stable the kite was in the gusts and lulls
The wind was now up to about 25 – 35 knots as I ventured out in to the water, only felt overpowered a couple of times and that was because I was finding it hard to hold an edge in the huge seas !. Had about 10 mins out until the rain hit then decided to call it a day.
As the conditions were so bad I decided to drop the kite on the safety, was surprised the Pulse 2 didn’t come supplied with the 5th line FDS system as the previous model, instead was fitted with the front line safety (FLS) similar to my 10M speed 2.
I pulled the safety and the kite started to spiral out of the sky, was surprised how much effort it took to stay in control and not be dragged down the beach, was glad I wasn’t still in the water as there would have been a good chance of being dragged under.
The kite finally came crashing down to the ground, the impact was so hard that it broke 6 of the little line connectors that fasten the bridle lines to the kite. Once on the ground I fully gained control and managed to walk up the lines and secure a very wet and sandy kite.
One modification made to the FLS system is they have added a small ring on the line to stop the handle from travelling to far up towards the kite when the safety is deployed, I’m not sure whether this is a good thing as it seamed to cause minor damage to the line at this point, I think you would soon do a lot of damage in this area if the FLS was your usual method of landing the kite.
Other than the landing (in unusual probably overpowered conditions) I felt in total control the whole time, the Pulse 2 is the most stable Flysurfer kite I have flown to date. It’s a shame I didn’t get the chance to try it out in a nice steady sea breeze !.
After drying the kite out and fixing the connectors (took about 10 minutes) finally returned the Kite to Youngie in almost as new condition !
Look forward to another test flight in more favourable conditions, I’m 95% sure the 8M Pulse 2 will soon be a new addition to my quiver.
Cheers

what size?
