The FX is a great kite, and has the best pump and delfate system of any kite I've seen yet. The only issue I have with it is the canopy. It's as thin as rice paper rolls! So treat the kite better than your own baby

It's double rip stop ... Same as the Switchblade and most other top kite brands. Great canopy material.

Really? Not from what I've seen sunshine. I had an FX drag over some ROUND rocks and rip, there went the canopy. Yeah maybe bad luck and could have happened with any kite but I took a piece of it and compare it with an older Slingshot piece of ripstop and it's not double, I can assure you. Same micron width of 25u (0.001 inch). That's just advertising spin mate.
This is real Ripstop..

Now look closely at the Fx... Hmmmm not quite the same eh?
Listen up Moonbeams
, your wiki reference is 10 years old (minimum), which is like an eternity as far as plastics/coatings/fibre technology goes. The cloth that Cab kites are made from is a completely new cloth developed specifically for Cabrinha kites, by a very large cloth manufacturer in Asia, Cab have used that cloth now for at least 2 full seasons. Saying its like rice paper and then using a 10 year old wiki reference sort of says a lot about your opinion and bias against this brand.
So, they don't still blow up just sitting on the beach pumped up?
I've been lucky enough to still see a few switch blades do it...
Might be too much humidity.....

Nah they sold that performance attribute to Best
.
D2 is the strongest canopy material out there atm. We haven't seen a ripped Cabrinha from impact on water in a long time. North was 1st brand to use it (not invented by North but Tejin ;)Since last year Ozone and Cabrinha are also using it.Back to the experts...
IS there any benefit in having a weaker canopy material than D2? As in when a canopy would have torn on older models, are the forces now transferred to the leading and trailing edge which will result in damage to more critical areas, leading to more expensive repairs or 'fatal' damage to the kite?
You destroyed yet another kite, lofty? Jesus, you're a menace...
That's not me.
Cabrinha don't use Teijin cloth, they have worked with an asian based sailcloth manufacturer to develop their own version of double ripstop.
