He should make the point there is a difference between the commercial super glue he provides in a repair kit and the one used in medical applications. Without using gobbledygook; the repair kit will stop the bleeding and seal it with a few added toxins, fumes, heat, and more infection risks (and appropriate if you are remote with no options.) You can buy medical super glue cheap as -the vet glue is same stuff different wrapper

... yep,,, I concur, don't use the stuff you buy at bunnings etc.
I used it on my daughters cut knee once thinking I was all clever and I got untold HTP (hell to pay) from the missus (nurse) for using it. Cut eventually healed but took longer than it should have and I had no idea the crap they put in the commercial stuff,,,,,, yep, best get the medical stuff!

Where are you guys sourcing the medical glue from?
same joint as medicinal cannabis
WOW! pretty hardcore to do that to yourself? I would like to see a few days after?
I think it is better to hold the cut together then glue it. As opposed to gluing inside the wound? I had a friend that put glue inside a big cut on his leg and it got really infected. ;(
I have used dodgey Indo super glue to fix up similar cut to my forehead. It healed up fine with no scar and no infection.
The funny thing with me is I had a two friends help me, one held the skin together and the other applied the glue. We used to much glue and glued my friends hands to my head for a minute, live and learn! ![]()

I had a friend who had major dramas with a pet using normal superglue on a cut. This article compares explains the different tissue glues
insidefirstaid.com/bleeding/how-to-use-cyanoacrylate-surgical-skin-glues
The tissue glues are easier to source in USA (off amazon). Lots of remote people and hunters carry pretty major medical kits. 3M vetbond over there under $20. Not sure who sells it in Australia, try eBay or search. If you want a decent first aid kit you should get an Israeli bandage. They are a great first responder bit of kit, and can be applied to yourself in an emergency
Dimitri is seriously hardcore. Unless I was absolutely desperate, life and death kinda stuff, I wouldn't even consider using commercial superglue. Who knows what this **** does to your body when it gets into your bloodstream....
Man up and suture yourself.
... my old man did once, back when men were men and old dudes back then did sh!t like this, we were sailing up North FNQ coast when my freshly caught fish flipped when it should have flapped, nicked his finger deep so while I watched on with dinner plate sized eyes, he sutured away.

The vetbond is a blue liquid in a multi use container with 4 disposable applicator nozzles. It's shelf life can be extended before and after opening by refrigerating. I paid $18 overseas. I've never used it so can't comment on its effectiveness

After seeing your post I bought some locally online and paid approx $30AUD delivered, got it through a google search of online pet/vet supplies.
